Whether it is a temple, a mosque, a gurudwara, or a church, these places have always been wonderful spaces for humans. People can visit them to find answers to all kinds of questions. If visiting these places reduces a person's stress—whether it is to find peace of mind, to offer prayers, or to listen to prayers—then it is good to go there. We always see many people volunteering in temples, mosques, churches, and gurudwaras to help the general public.
The duty of these people is to help and guide anyone visiting these auspicious places, ensuring that no one faces any kind of trouble. These people are called Sevadaars, which means those who are worthy of serving, who know how to serve, and who wish to serve from the bottom of their hearts. Wherever we see Sevadaars, we all respect them and look up to them with great admiration because they perform these good deeds with pure devotion.
However, even in the most sacred of all these auspicious places, evil somehow creeps in. Despite being in such a holy environment, these individuals fail to protect themselves from the influence of Kali (the embodiment of darkness or sin).
This time, this unwanted and not so much auspicious thing happened with, not basically with, but there is a linkage with the KHATU SHYAM MANDIR.
Khatu Shyam Mandir is a globally renowned Hindu pilgrimage site located in the Khatu village of Sikar district, Rajasthan, India. It is dedicated to Baba Khatu Shyam, who is widely revered as the "Support of the Defeated" (Haare Ka Sahara). Devotees believe that the deity possesses immense divine energy to fulfil wishes and bring peace.
Even in such auspicious premises, there are always some people who work to make it inauspicious. And this time, this responsibility was taken up by an evil human named DIGVIJAY SINGH CHAUHAN. He was a volunteer at the Khatu Shyam temple in name only, but in human form, he was a sinner, unstable of mind, and an alcoholic. Who knows why, on that day, he drove his car after drinking alcohol, which caused a poor, innocent, sinless, normal human being, "BALRAM ATAR"(RAVI), to lose their life
Digvijay Singh Chauhan, a prominent official and treasurer associated with the Khatu Shyam Ji Temple Seva Samiti, was arrested by Rajasthan police following a fatal drunk driving crash on the Pushkar-Ajmer Valley Road.
The incident went viral on social media, drawing massive criticism over the hypocritical behaviour of a high-profile religious figure.
Furious devotees and locals have demanded Chauhan’s immediate removal from the trust. They are calling for strict accountability and a full-scale investigation into the misuse of temple properties by its administrators.
Rajasthan police registered a case of drunk driving and reckless homicide, taking Chauhan into custody for further legal proceedings.
"One thing that is crucial to mention is that the SHREE KHATU SHYAM TEMPLE has absolutely no involvement in this entire incident. It is highly necessary to state this because some people just look for an excuse—as soon as an incident happens, they start bashing and speaking ill of this religion with such great traditions. Telling this is even more critical to protect the reputation of the KHATU SHYAM TEMPLE and its great tradition.
Although the car Digvijay was driving belongs to the Shree Khatu Shyam Temple, this does not prove anything. They must have given the car to Digvijay for some official work or for public service. However, one thing must be said: the temple management should keep track of who they are giving their car to, what that person does with it, and what purpose it is being used for.
During the investigation, it was found that not only was Digvijay drunk, but several alcohol bottles were also recovered from his car. This confirms that Digvijay had committed this heinous act multiple times and used to do it fearlessly.
And lastly, like I always say, read everything, get to know everything, anything, but carefully make your perception and mindset.
