Technology is best when it brings people together. - Matt Mullenweg

Before we start about the future needs of technology first we have to understand “What is technology? ” So basically technology is the branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life, society, and the environment.

We are completely driven by technology. If we look around us, we are completely dependent on technology. From, tiny fans to metros in cities it is the advancement of technology which made our lives easier.

If we talk about 2047 INDIA i.e. A new and advanced INDIA a lot of new technology and advancement comes to our mind. India is a developing country, and we need advancement in technology to become a developed one. When we talk about the future technology needs of India or how we assume or dream of India in 2047 the first thing that comes to our mind is the advancement of defense. As we can see that so many countries are targeting India’s lands, and India’s military force so we need technology that makes India stronger no doubt our forces are stronger, and our army is stronger and bolder but we need advancement in technology in the defense field because if the country will be safe, only then we will be safe. India’s defense industrialization and scientific know-how are widely acknowledged. It has, however, not attained the required degree of success as a self-reliant, sustainable entity capable of meeting the needs of the country’s armed forces and steering it into the next millennium.

Advancement of technology in India may not be able to meet its defense needs. In the current and future technological scenario, India has a wide spectrum of needs to cover. Some of these are- nuclear warfare, information warfare, satellite technology, missile technology, chemical and biological warfare, high-altitude warfare, desert warfare, air and naval warfare, counter-insurgency, mobile warfare, high-speed communications, underwater technology, and cyber warfare.

Flying cars, robots, holographic video calls, color-changing walls, memory relievers, and mobile charging through sunlight these are the advancement that every Indian wants till 2047 or we can say these are the future technology needs people dreamt of having in India till 2047. But apart from these what is more important, or the advancement of technology, we need more in is the safety of every citizen, especially women, children, and senior citizens. If we talk about women's safety there is a need to not just look for smart gadgets and devices that come in handy for women, but something out-of-the-box solutions and innovative applications that can be embedded in the mobile phones of the person in trouble. The devices must come with Geo-trackers and a direct police helpline specifically set up and linked to a hospital. For senior citizens, we need technology like fire safety alarms, gas leaking detection devices because most of the cases are usually because of blasts in homes due to gas leakage, door sensors for preventing robberies and etc.

Well, the technology needs of healthcare are our main priority too. Through this pandemic, i.e. COVID 19 we all learned a lesson that we need advancement of technology in healthcare systems. India needs high-quality medical-grade equipment in all categories including hospital beds, switches, plug points, etc. And these are not indigenously manufactured. We need technology that is equitable, affordable, and quality health care accessible to the population, especially the poor and vulnerable sections of society. As medical insurance penetration increases in India, there will be a need to create a national-level medical transaction clearinghouse, based on blockchain and AI, with cascading multi-level payments and settlements.

But one thing that should be focussed on isn’t the need for technology harming the environment. Because we have already seen the environment getting harmed because of the inventions of new technology. As a new trend, digital coin mining became very popular. Unfortunately, due to the complex calculations required to mine it, the electrical power required for these operations is extremely high. As a direct by-product of this operation, a tremendous amount of heat is generated which in its turn, requires cooling using air conditioners or other similar devices that also consume electrical power, generating additional heat as a by-product and ultimately harming the environment. This is just one example, a lot of new technology like 5g which is going to introduce in India soon, going to affect the environment very badly. Resource depletion is another negative impact of technology on the environment. A small proportion of old electronic devices are recycled. However, the vast majority end up in landfill sites or burned in dumps. These dumps are usually located out of sight, around some of the planet's poorest and most vulnerable people. Obviously, this not only endangers human health but also impacts the environment in a range of hugely negative ways. No doubt we need advanced technology, but that does not mean we will compromise with our environment. India needs environment-friendly technology or environment-friendly technology is our basic need.

But the question is, Is the advancement of technology bring advancement in people too? We live in a country where the majority of people come from backward areas of

India, where there is no proper internet facility available. So before bringing new advanced technology, we need to spread awareness among people on how to use these technologies. If we are expecting a new and advanced India in 2047 we should bring advancement in people too. Because there will be no point in bringing advanced gadgets if people don’t understand how to use them. We should arrange awareness programs, and awareness rallies so that people don’t find it difficult to use it because ultimately
