Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) in collaboration with Public Sector Undertakings under the Ministry of Power has announced two super initiatives - The National Efficient Cooking Programme (NECP) and the Energy Efficient Fans Programme (EEFP).

These programmes are expected to revolutionize India's energy landscape focusing on the promotion of energy-efficient activities.

EESL's holds ambitious vision involves distributing Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) fans and energy-efficient induction stoves worldwide. It simultaneously aims in the reduction of carbon emissions.

Ministers have highlighted the significance of the transition to electric cooking. There is actually high time to reduce the dependence on imported Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for cooking, highlighting the imperative of enhancing energy security. We also need to realise that our dependency on foreign energy sources is also very critical.

There is no discernible difference in the quality of food cooked with electric induction stoves compared to traditional gas stoves. It's expected that this message shall be widely disseminated through collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Power and Energy respectively. This transition would provide a cost-effective solution benefitting disadvantaged households.

The event reiterates the idea that India is strongly committed to becoming a global leader in energy efficiency.

The Ministry of Power and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) both under the Ministry of Power received praise from the Minister for their contributions to India's journey as a world leader in energy transition. It was highlighted regarding the government's plan to electrify the economy and transition to cleaner electricity sources. It would effectively reduce carbon footprints in Indian households.

Previous EESL initiatives such as the distribution of LED bulbs and energy-efficient streetlights have already made a substantial impact on energy consumption and emissions reduction.

These initiatives represent a major stride towards achieving energy efficiency, affordability, and sustainability in India. They are expected to pave the way for a greener future.
