Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Srinagar to bless the region with a degree of development projects worth more than Rs 6,400 crores.
On his arrival, PM Modi took to X and shared some grandeur images of the great Shankaracharya Hill. He said that he was blessed with an opportunity to see the hill from a distance.
This visit of the Prime Minister is supposedly regarded the next after since the repealment of Article 370 by the Union Government under his leadership. He participated in the 'Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu and Kashmir programme' and has worked to boost the agricultural and industrial economy of the region.
PM Modi mentioned that ever since he visited this place in 2014, his attempt has always to win the hearts of people here and for that he shall be always on his toes, toiling day in and day out. He said, 'This is Modi ki guarantee and you know that 'Modi ki guarantee' means, there is a guarantee of fulfilling the guarantee'.
PM Modi also highlighted as to how the State of Jammu & Kashmir is touching new heights of development. PM Modi was actually here to inaugurate the developmental project of Hazratbal Shrine.
During his visit, the Prime Minister met the local artisans and craftsmen and the local businessmen who were showcasing the local products of Jammu and Kashmir.
Standing tall above the city of Srinagar, Shankaracharya Hill, also known as 'Takht-e-Sulaiman', rises 1100 feet and is one of the prominent landmarks in the region. This peak is an abode or a temple to Lord Shiva. It is believed that the temple at the top of the Shankaracharya Hill was visited by Adi Shankara, a Hindu preacher and scholar. Many Hindu devotees visit the temple on their way to the Holy Amarnath Yatra.
PM Modi shall also distribute appointment letters to newly recruited government employees in Jammu and Kashmir.
Hikers and trekkers can stay back here to enjoy and capture the aesthetics of the city, gardened in the mountains, making it a perfect tourist destination spot.
He will also launch nationwide projects related to the tourism sector that are worth more than Rs 1,400 crore under the 'Swadesh Darshan' and 'PRASHAD' (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive) schemes. He shall also interact with the target beneficiaries of the various govt. schemes extended to women, farmers and entrepreneurs.
