Bhagwani Devi's gold medal feat at the World Masters Athletics Championships came in 100 meters while bagging one of the two bronze medals in shot put.

In the 100m sprint, Dagar clocked 24.74 seconds and she also won a bronze medal in shot put. India's 94-year-old Bhagwani Devi Ji has yet again proved that age is no bar. She won a gold medal at the World Masters Athletics Championships in Tampere in the 100m sprint event with a timing of 24.74 seconds. She also bagged a BRONZE in Shot put. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has also regarded her efforts to be commendable. World Masters Athletics Championship is an event for athletics ( track and field) for athletes aged 35 years and over.

The achievements of Bhagwani have been applauded by the netizens. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri branded her as 'Inspirational'. Her achievement will work to fuel enthusiasm among the youth. Her enthusiasm for sports will inspire more youth to join the activity. Many Union Ministers congratulated the 94-year old calling her an 'inspiration for all'.
