Recently, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik felicitated Pandit Antaryami Mishra, a renowned Odia scholar, and litterateur from the Dhenkanal district. The Chief Minister felicitated Pandit Mishra, who is going to receive the prestigious Padma Shri Award, one of the highest civilian honours of India at Naveen Niwas.

On Twitter too, the Chief Minister said that he was very glad to meet Antaryami Mishra, a distinguished litterateur who is soon to be conferred the Padma Shri. His contribution to the spread of the Odia language and literature will inspire everyone. He has also been wished some good wishes in his endeavours of enriching Odia literature.

Pandit Antaryami Mishra is the first scholar who expressed historical studies, growth, development, and Classical Status of the Odia language in his research book Odia-Eka Sastriya Bhasa. He has made some great contributions in regard to the research conducted in Odia language, grammar, and culture for the last five decades. He has written several books promoting regional currents. Many of his works have been featured in textbooks. Some of his prominent works are 'Purushottam Jagannath', 'Darubrahma Nkara Nabakalebara', 'Prachin Odisha', 'Odia Bhasara Itihaas', 'Moulika Odia Bhasatatwa', so on and so forth.

According to this scholar, the Odia society is recognized by two things- Lord Jagannath and the Odia language.

He also reveals about his love for the regional language and the Jagannath culture. The author has hence been chosen for the civilian award in the field of literature and education. He dedicates this award as the blessing of the Lord Jagannath.

Regional sentiments should be upholded and respected. Every regional dialect should be preserved as every literary work holds utter significance. Regional literature needs to be preserved in the current digital era as the development of technology can supersede the existence of regional literature in previous societies. Regional literature incorporates the broader concept of sectional differences within a particular locale. Regionalism should not always be seen as a divisive force in society rather it should be accommodated with the larger national framework.
