The majority of us tend to forget the favors that are done to us by others. But there are people who can't forget it all. An example of one such person is Amangattuchali Kannan. He has gone on a pilgrimage to Sabarimala Temple in the South to pray for a teacher who helped him in the past. The journey of his life was never easy. Similarly, the journey to the temple is also difficult.
On December 15, 49-year-old Kannan left for Sabrimala from Thadapparambha village. He usually starts his journey early in the morning in a wheelchair and it continues till noon time. After having lunch at the temples, he takes a nap to rest for a while. The journey re-starts around 6 pm and continues till 11 pm. He generally spends his night in temples. He is expecting to reach the temple by the first week of January and has plans of climbing up to the Ayyappa temple on foot.
The financial condition of Kannan is also not very good. His wife also works as a cleaning lady in a hotel just to supplement the income of the family.
His pilgrimage has objects of receiving blessings for his teacher who helped him at the time when the former was in crisis.
Kannan recalls that incident when he lost his leg way back in 2013. It was a situation where he was unloading some wooden logs from a lorry. At the same time, Kannan lost his left leg in an accident in the process. Kannan is a father to four children and had to struggle a lot in order to earn a livelihood for his family. At that time, MP Sameera, Assistant Professor at the Government College in Kondotti helped him. Got a house built for him.
Kannan said that it was Sameera Madam who changed his life. The teacher is just like a God for Kannan and his family. Being a devotee of Lord Ayyappa, he says that this pilgrimage is for Sameera's teacher. He believes that if prays sincerely at Sabarimala, Lord Ayyappa will definitely shower his blessings.
These examples prove that goodness has still not been wiped out from this world. Some people continue to be good no matter what the circumstances are. The good deeds of someone should be remembered always. It helps to maintain the chain of goodness and positivity in this world.
