Introduction: The Laws of Nature

'The laws of nature are the skeleton of the universe. They support it, give it shape, tie it together. Taken as a whole, they embody a vision of our world that is both breathtaking and awe-inspiring.'
---- James Trefil.

It is a philosophical theory that states that humans have certain rights, moral values, and responsibilities that are inherent in human nature. Natural law theory is based on the idea that natural laws are universal concepts and are not based in any culture or customs. Still, it's a way society acts naturally and inherently as human beings. It doesn't require any political order or legislature.

The natural law theory is stated to have existed without even the requirement of human understanding. To be explained further, natural law incorporates the difference between 'right' and 'wrong'. Essentially, it concludes that human beings are not taught natural law rather they initiate it by the sense of morality. Therefore, it can be only surfaced with the help of reason.

The theory of natural laws was known to some Greek philosophers. Some important philosophers who played an important role in this context were Aristotle, Plato and Thomas Aquinas.

Many difficulties and concerns have surrounded natural law theory. Some believe that natural law theory is too simple as a concept that it breaks down in complicated scenarios. Throughout centuries, the meaning of natural law has expanded on and has been critiqued at several junctures.

It is important to note that natural law is not be mistaken with the positive law as it does not involve any kind of judicial decisions or legislative enactments. It highlights human behaviour involving ethical standards and ways of being inherent.

On the contrary, positive law involves human-made laws that incorporate rules that can be applied to specific actions at certain times or places. Furthermore, positive laws is enacted for the proper governance of society, to protect the rights of individuals and to maintain order and safety of society.

Natural law has intitally been defined by many Greek philosophers. Plato didn't have a theory on natural law but some of his theories involved concepts of natural law. While, Aristotle focused on the distinction between law and nature. Later, the concept of natural justice which can be attributed to the Stoics.

Later, Cicero explained natural law as something that can contribute to the general good of society whereas positive law would contribute to the safety of the society. The thinkers of the Renaissance period and the Age of Enlightenment continued to make several contributions to the natural law theory. Many more natural law theories were developed over course of time. The coincidence of the natural law and positive law will continue to be referenced, disputed and analyzed.

Natural law is applied to moral, political and ethical systems today. It has played an important role in the understanding of human nature. Natural laws are universally accepted everywhere. These are some ideas which are morally obligatory on the individual and are enforceable without the requirement of law. These laws are inherent with human beings.

Here, in this paper...I shall be discussing about some 'Laws of Nature' which are as follows:-

(1) The Law of Divine Oneness:-

According to the Law of Divine Oneness, the whole universe is interconnected. Nothing loves on its own in it's little bubble. This law helps us to change the way we approach life.

This law teaches us that you are a part of the whole made up of everything else around you. We share an element with almost everything that's found in universe. We return to the earth from where we came. Essentially, the connection we have on Earth find its way back to us in one form or the other.

This law teaches that we are all linked. We all share the same energy. It is said that we 'feel' each other because of the connection between our energies. Some might recognize them as a part of universal laws.

Nothing is random in life. Multiple universal energies influence and are influenced by out actions, thoughts and feelings. Unfortunately, due to the lack of awareness, we don't recognize ourselves as a whole but as different individuals. This leads to a disturb in balance. Order is replaced by chaos, love is replaced by hatred and community feeling is sidelined by tones of individuality.

Breaking the laws of nature leads to unexplained and unwanted manifestations. When we don't understand these laws, we consider everything happening around us as normal. Knowledge about these laws can assist you in controlling and improving your life.

Oneness is about contributing to the universe in ways that are beneficial not only for us but to all of the people that surround us.

The release of industrial effluents into the waterbodies and the nearby areas affects the local habitat. This is an example of Lack of Oneness within the world. Now when the companies are trying to correct the effects of pollution, they are trying to atone with it. Hence, Oneness is the state of being unified as a whole though comprised of parts.

Judging others is totally a wrong practice as we fail to understand that 'we are what they are'. The realization of this calls for a state of atonement. It helps the people to remain in a calmer state of mind.

Atonement also includes the reparation for a wrong or a injury. The fact that we are all part of one energy force is known as, 'The Law of One'.This law helps us to align our actions and life in synchronisation with the universe.

In order to connect with this universal energy, we need to tune into our higher self.

Tuning into higher self can happen either through meditation or connecting with the spiritual world. Meditation helps us to communicate with the universal energy. This helps to improve our health, happiness and satisfaction etc.

This law teaches that we should be working together and helping each other. We begin to take responsibility for our actions. We automatically start becoming the best version of ourselves.

The world is always on crossroads. Choices have to be made to either preserve the world and maintain it's original balance and let our individuality lead us. Largely, the world chooses the latter causing imbalance and loss of connection with the world.

This law describes the following:-

  • Everything is linked to each other in universe. We can't lead solitary life. Collective consciousness binds everyone to everything.
  • Everything we do has an effect on the world. Whatever you dedicate your mind and thoughts to is what you manifest. The energy stored continues to make a ripple effect. By shifting our thoughts, beliefs, words and actions we can influence the reality.
  • Collective consciousness means this universal energy that connects us. The inventions that we have all seen were nothing but the manifestation of people's desires. The more people with similar thoughts, the easier and faster these thoughts become a reality. Things are created because of this feeling of oneness.
  • This law would reonnect to our oneness and faciliate the healing of regeneration of earth's resources and peace among men.
  • Our actions duly affect the world we live in and also the future that's to come.

(2) The Law of Vibration:-

It states that in order to materialise something, we must first watch the vibration of what we want. Everything in the cosmos is made up of energy and depending on the content of the thought, they vibrate at different frequencies.

The idea is that we all have a specific vibrational frequency. It says that the more attuned we are to our energy, the more we will notice how our vibrations influence our entire experience. It is said that by choosing and directing our ideas, we have the ability to control the frequency of our being. The vibration of your body is determined by your emotional moods.

This universal law can assist you in determining how you feel in a particular event or scenario. It's simpler to recognize when you are in the midst of high vibrations. This law is constantly on the lookout for people, things, and experiences that are in tune with your vibration.

The law pushes you to make every effort to comprehend that you will attract whatever frequency is in harmony with yours. You may alter your entire experience of the world by changing your frequency.

It is said that our vibrational energy rises whenever you express gratitude for the things that you have in life. Speaking positive about something also helps to cancel the negative thoughts. Thus, the subconscious mind is programmed accordingly.

This law helps us to understand about the vibrational alignment of our actions with the respective desires. Everything in this world is in a constant state of vibration. It is this vibration which attracts things and outcomes with the same vibration into your life. It helps us to navigate through tough situations and understand what emotions are revealing to you. This law helps you manifest your visions into reality.

(3) The Law of Correspondence:-

Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world. It corresponds with your dominant patterns of thinking. It explains most happiness, most success and failure, most greatness and meanness in life. Nothing can happen to or for you in the long term until it corresponds to something inside of you. If you want to change or improve anything in your life, you must begin by changing the inner aspects of your mind.

It works and acts as a guiding principle to help us design our dream life. It states that there is always a correspondence with the outer world and the inner world. There is a correspondence between what is going on around us and what is going inside us.

This means that if our inner world is unhappy, our outer world will also be unhappy. The outer world is nothing more than a mirror of what is going on inside us. If we have low esteem, feel badly about ourselves, our outer reality will naturally be unhappy. It is a direct result of what is happening inside us.

The mind takes everything as it is and begins to recreate exactly. Our reality will continue to manifest in a way that reflects our inner state.

Hence, certain lessons are repeated over and over again until we actually learn a lesson. In order to change the outer world, you will need to first change your inner world, your thoughts and beliefs. We need to learn more about yourself to lead us on a different road where we are supposed to be.

It's significant to get aware of your inner world and whatever you do at the micro level, because that will have a correspondence at the macro level.

The key to understand this law is that we must realize ourselves not in external reasons but by looking inside of yourself. The inner world is the site of reflecting upon your thoughts while the outer world is just a reflection.

(4) The Law of Attraction:-

It just means to depict that whatever circumstances we face in our life are the result of what we thought in our past. Thoughts dominate our mind and they come to manifest in our life. The engagements in our life is that we have been thinking the most. Getting frustrated right in the morning sucks your entire day. This happens when we attract a negative energy right in the morning.

It is a belief or a theory that 'like attracts like' and that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, one can bring about positive or negative results.

This law helps us to wake up to the fact that everything that is happening in our lives is only the result of what we are constantly feeling and thinking. This fact can liberate us from the position of a passive observer to a proactive one.

A person with a negative attitude towards life wakes up and sees only negativity all around. But that's not necessary. We can consciously choose our life experiences and by thinking and positively, we can change our realities for the better.

As one shifts from negative to positive, we start to change the experiences and completely change your life.

Aligning yourself with what you want, you start to attract everything you visualise. Eliminate negative thoughts from your life. A persistent practice of this will help you form a habit. Don't try figuring out everything. Make choices and leave the rest up to universe to take care of you. There should be no negative conditioning of the subconscious mind. There are ways to change it always. Understanding the working of mind may assist us to create the reality we desire.

There may be limited studies to back up the Law of Attraction. In short, instead of theorizing and planning endlessly for a future event, one must work to reform his immediate present in first place.

(5) The Law of Inspired Action:-

This law tells us that we need to take action when we want to accomplish something while on the earth plane. We are physical beings on a physical planet and action is required on our part in order to manifest thoughts and visualizations. In most of the cases, a physical action is much required. When we feel inspired to do something, it's imperative that we take physical action while the inspiration is still within us. Inspired energy comes with energy and enthusiasm.

When we desire something or set a goal to accomplish, we will receive guidance and many a times that guidance requires us to take some sort of action - inspired action. Steps taken can be both small and great. Each step whether large or small takes us closer to our desired outcome. Actions are taken more when we receive more inspiration and enthusiasm. It's as simple as that we need to take action to accomplish something.

Inspired action is action that feels effortless and joyous and brings no stress nor the tendency to force things into happening. An inspired action that moves you towards what you want and away from what you don't want. Acting on your intentions without trying to force things to happen will magnetize your desires by attracting people, places and opportunities into your reality. Taking an inspired action holds the essence of moving from within.

The Law of Inspired Action states that you must take real, actionable, inspired steps in order to achieve your goals and allow your dreams to manifest in your life.

(6) The Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy:-

This law states that the energy is constantly moving, transmuting or transferring and it always in motion. This continuous metamorphosis never stops. Everything is always changing and nothing stays constant. Energy exists. It cannot disappear, it cannot go away nor it can add to itself. Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed. It is always transforming in behaviour.

It states that you can also transmute your own energy to manifest things you want. If energy is always in motion, we can use this knowledge to move through the different forms of energy to your benefit. We continue to follow this law without even thinking about it. The transformation of energy can be seen in all the time in the world around us.

This law means that you have the power to change the conditions in your life. Life doesn't happens by chance. It happens by choice, by change. One can choose their perception towards the world.

The idea is that this law is the foundation of expressions. Your thoughts determine emotions, your emotions determine your behaviours, and your behaviours determine your results. This cycle creates the identity you have. The energy moving within the cycle is manifested by us.

This law encourages us to take an active role in our emotional regulation. To improve, we need to improve our actions and reactions.

When we begin to change for the better, we start to change the world for the better too.

The energy is always constant and changing as per the surroundings that envelope us. This law can be used to change the conditions of our life to our own advantage.

(7) The Law of Cause and Effect:-

The universal law of cause and effect states that for every effect there is a definite cause. Likewise, for every cause, there is a definite effect.

Yours thoughts, behaviours, and actions create specific 'effects' that manifest in your life. These manifestations are always the result of some causes.

It states that every effect has a specific and predictable cause. Every cause or action has a specific and predictable effect. Everything in our lives is an effect that is a result of a specific cause.

These causes are the decisions we make and the actions we take on a routine basis.

In order to become successful in life, we must know 'how they were' in their lives. There are no accident events as per this law.

This law also agrees that everything happens with a particular reason. Nothing happens by chance or luck.

What you attract into your life is a direct result of the causes you brought forth into existence.

Within the seed of individual thoughts, lie the origins of the causes we create in our reality. These causes create effects which we experience in our lives as manifested life circumstances. They actually give meaning to our experience of reality.

We come into this world with the conscious power over our thought processes. Because we have free choice to control our thought processes at all times. We have freely chosen to experience life as we know it because of the learned and conditioned psychological patterns we have pre-programmed into our minds.

This law helps us to gain greater clarity of life and thought processes. This law doesn't allows life to be recognized as a set of random circumstances but rather as a predictable formula of conscious free choice that can be moulded and shaped to create our normal life.

(8) The Law of Compensation:-

It states that what you do affects what you get. In simple words, you get what you give. Your reality is what you think about.

It's like that we will be compensated for everything that you do. If we are continuously making an effort to do good things, you will get more of good things. On the contrary, if we will focus on negative thoughts about someone or somebody, universe may give you thousand reasons to complain.

The lens you choose to see the world through will dramatically affect your experience within your life. Your perceptions matters more than you think. When your perceptions changes, so does your reality. It becomes a lot more easier to manifest the things you want when you operate in a more positive reality.

You attract to you, what you already are. You become what you think about most. Your thoughts and behaviours create emotions, and your emotions are your energy in motion.

Hence, as per this law, a person will always be compensated for his efforts and contributions, no matter how much the effort is employed for a certain action.

(9) The Law of Relativity:-

It states that every person will experience challenges as an opportunity for growth. It helps to strengthen our characters. It's a sort of reality check. Sometimes life hits so hard that we begin to give up. But we should take it a different way. It's actually meant to bring out your higher self so you can learn and grow from things that struck you hard.

Here the challenges are necessary for bringing growth and fulfillment to our lives. Challenges allow us to develop our characters and gain clarity on our purpose and passions. Life would be as boring as hell without challenges.

Life tests us at multiple points. It tests your character, integrity, kindness, honesty, values. It tests you to either help you master something or heal something in lifetime. Our response to such situations indicate our approach towards life. The longer we are unaware of our habits and the lessons we need to learn, the longer it takes us to grow and change from them.

The human experience is all about growth and learning from our mistakes in life. When we withstand the challenges thrown our way and we overcome them, we raise our vibrations to a whole new level. It's not about good or bad things in life...it's about the experience of growth.

Actually, there are no setbacks. There are only opportunities to grow. This helps us to understand to be the best version of ourselves. It reminds me that everything negative we experience is an opportunity somewhere. This allows a paradigm shift in perspectives.

We have to have the capacity to accept the bad, accept the challenges and utilize these lessons as a means to move forward within a higher vibration.

This law encourages us to live a proactive life rather than being reactive in behaviour. We will experience varying levels of situations and hence our reaction to these is all that what matters. Some people cannot let go of victim mindset and hence they manifest more of it. Such people are stuck in a perpetuating cycle of challenges. Allowing a victim mindset to grow is not at all learning in any manner. Instead, we should adopt a curious mindset to understand the cause and effect relationship of events. Perspective is the key for every hurdle that comes our way.

Challenges allows us to become stronger in every way. Using this law, failure can't exist as there is always beauty in the fall. There is only opportunity for growth. Resilience is the key to a life of fulfillment.

The Law of Relativity is the law that requires challenges and failure in exchange for higher vibrations and beauty in life.

(10) The Law of Polarity:-

The Law of Polarity states that there is an opposite for everything in our world. This is actually even necessary for balance to exist in universe. Everything has a duality and a built-in opposite that cannot exist without the other.

Paradoxically, these opposing and separate sides are also a part of the same because together they make up the whole. Happiness is only realised when there had been strokes of sadness. Although it's entirely opposite yet related. This is the beauty of the Law of Polarity.

The polar ends are both extremes of the same continuum. They are much alike as they are different. It's often said that love and hate are similar emotions. Same spectrum, opposite ends, easy to flip between.

There are two sides of the coin that are totally inseparable. One cannot have one side of the continuum without the existence and potential for the opposite end. You can't have black without white, birth without death, light without dark, healthy without illness or good without bad, etc.

By this description, one can experience both sides of extreme behaviour. Everything we experience in our world is cyclical and within balance because of the laws working together.

For every tree that falls, another is growing, for every death there is a birth, for every storm there is a drought, for every 'yes' there is a 'no', and so on.

Understanding of the law reminds us to pay it forward while things are good. For every gift we receive, aim to give a gift away. For every opportunity to receive, give another to someone else. For every moment of joy we enjoy, bring joy to someone else.

Universe never perceives something to be good or bad. This is entirely a human concept. The universe is purely neutral. The humans here on this Earth apply labels to various things. 'Good' and 'bad' are human concepts with no meaning to nature.

Change is inevitable, choice is how can we adapt. The observer's expectations determine the outcome. The opposites will always exist but the expression of one pole depends entirely on your beliefs. Hence, working on core beliefs is one of the most important things we can do in our lives.

The Law of Polarity reflects on this very neutral behaviour of the universe. This simplicity - is just the expression of two ends.

(11) The Law of Rhythm:-

It states that everything is cyclical and change is always around the corner. This law is the process of moving in and out of various phases in life, or experiencing seasons of change. It demonstrates the beautiful mystery of the world around us as we dance through life, fading in and out of various seasons. Our world is in a constant state of movement, ebbing and flowing through various states.

It encourages us to see the beauty in every phase of life as things will always sway and cycle back to the way you want them.

Your circumstances will always change and eventually return to a more desired outcome. It teaches us that something better is always around the corner.

Allowing ourselves to cycle through various emotions, actions, thoughts, priorities and even relationships can help us stay balanced and healthy.

Even the best manifester in the world will experience the full cycle of growth - the 'good', the 'bad' and the 'different'. It's important to mention that having a negative experience does not always mean that you are atrracting bad things to yourself. Down cycles do not say anything bad about your worth. Improvisation in life isn't always a smooth process, there are always some turbulent cycles. Every good thing that we cherish today can be traced to some worst moments of your life.

For all the bad, there has to be good. Just like the seasons, sometimes a rough winter is preparing the foundation for a really beautiful spring. All phases bring new growth.

Change is unavoidable in life, so there is no point in resisting or fearing it. Change in perspectives can assist in our emotional development.

No matter what we do, there will be seasons of growth, cycles of challenge followed by contentment, sadness followed by happiness, loss followed by gain. Allowing ourselves to experience the entire spectrum gives us doses we can tolerate as it flows us in and out of opposites.

Things will always return to bring great again, no matter how awful we may feel in the moment. We should enjoy the moments of bliss when they are there. This knowledge can empower you to keep moving forward when you feel defeated. Appreciate the highs and as clichè as it sounds, don't take a single day for granted.

This law allows us to accept all phases of life with a new perspective to be more understanding and compassionate to ourselves during the ups and downs of life - because they are all inevitable.

(12) The Law of Gender:-

It states that we all have the potential to express both feminine and masculine energy, both can be found within us regardless of our sex.

Just like in nature, if feminine energy were the seed then masculine energy would be the pollen. The feminine ( or the idea ) needs to be fertilized by the masculine ( or the action ). A seed cannot come into fruition without fertilization and pollen is useless without a seed to pollinate.

Nature requires both masculine and feminine energies in equal amounts to thrive. In order to manifest the things we want, our goal is to achieve balance between the two in our lives.

Although, the laws uses the term 'gender' but it is not related to male or female sex. Instead, it is a representation of the two opposing types of energy - one that nurtures and one that drives.

While many of us had to overemphasize our masculine energy in order to succeed in the business world, there is a beautiful shift toward including more feminine qualities ( transparency, accountability, empathy, better communication and women empowerment programs etc. )

Balancing our masculine and feminine within society will allow us to be healthier individuals and better communicators.

Masculine energy is based in knowledge. It is application, action, logic, practicality, stability, willpower, focus, drive and goal-oriented.

Feminine energy is based on knowing. It is intuition, creativity, passion, nurturing, authentic connection, dynamic and perceptive.

Having a balance of both masculine and feminine energy will prevent the ugly sides of each showing up, ensuring the best of both worlds for productivity and creation. Falling into one ectrene can create an imbalance in our lives.

In order to function at our peak as individuals, this law encourages us to utilize both feminine and our masculine energies. The person who can successfully balance the two in most situations will have knowledge and wisdom beyond their years.

Conclusion:-

The Laws of Nature are important because it is applied to moral, political, and ethical systems today. It has played a large role in the history of political and philosophical theory and had been used to understand and discuss human nature. It is a generalized system of natural processes.

It's moreover a theory in ethics and philosophy that says that human beings possess intrinsic values that govern their reasoning and behaviour. It maintains that these rules of right and wrong are inherent in people and are not created by society. It is constant throughout the globe because it based on human nature, not on culture or customs. This is opposed to theories that laws are socially constructed and created by people. The examples of such laws exist in multiple planes. These are standards that contribute to the formation of a just society.

Human beings are not taught natural law but we discover it by consistently making choices for good instead of evil. Some schools of thought believe that natural law is passed to humans through a divine presence. It states that our laws should be based on morality it ethics. The precepts of natural law are timeless and eternal to the working of the human society.

'Man cannot change a single law of nature, but can put himself into such relations yo natural laws that he can profit by them.' --- Edwin Grant Conklin.
