The unemployment rate has dropped over these 2 years as per the data coming from statistics and programme implementation ministry's Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS).

Sikkim had the highest worker population ratio followed by Himachal Pradesh and Dadra and Nagar Haveli while Bihar had the lowest rate followed by Lakshwadeep and Manipur.

According to PLFS data, Bihar saw a hike in the unemployment rate. A major behind for such an unwanted increase is the lack of industries in the State. As per the Economic Survey of the State, agriculture and allied sectors continue to have a crucial space in Bihar's economy.

Lack of employment opportunities in the State has pushed the natives as migrants to relocate to more developed States. Bihar has had the highest unemployment rate for the last two years.

Sikkim also had a turbulent history of unemployment still it registered a massive growth in terms of job creation. It's quite serious to note that Union Territories are facing from issues such as unemployment.

India has a huge potential for demographic dividend but the state has no adequate policies to convert that potential into massive benefits. Small-scale industries need to be prompted and special economic zones should be extended in Bihar properly. A progressive effort from both the public sector and private sector shall help Bihar to improve its rank.
