A Step-by-Step Blueprint for Protecting Your Eyes the Natural Way

As a writer myself, I know how much time technology consumes. In the era of computers, we all spend most of our time sitting in front of the screen. Our mobiles have become part of our hands, and most of us have grown accustomed to neglecting our health.

This addiction to electronics is causing various eye problems among people everywhere nowadays. If you have spectacles or other issues like burning sensation or dry eyes (like me), keep reading to decrease the intensity of your problems naturally by implementing these healthy habits. This worked for me, so it will work for you too!

Precautions

Prevention is better than cure — we have heard about this old yet golden sentence. Let’s talk about the measures that one can take to prevent eyesight from getting poor.

Mobile Usage

First of all, decrease the usage time, especially the span of operating cell phones. Instead of keeping your eyes fixed for a long time, take small breaks to look outside. Also, a well-lit room is less prone to harming your eyes.

The second most common wrong thing is people holding the phone too close to their eyes. You can keep your mobile at a safe distance, which will not stress your eye muscles. I know these are things that we already know, but we tend to forget these basic things. Keep reminding yourself until they become your habit.

Food Consumption

Do you know your salt intake can manipulate your eyesight indirectly? So next time you grab a packet of salty snacks and put extra salt on top of it, think about your eyes for a bit.

You can avoid too much salty or sour food, specifically if you are already facing issues. Avoid eating up to the neck at night as well.

Also, consuming dry nuts should be prohibited when having dry eyes because it will only increase the problem. The time to become healthy, everyone is eating dry fruits without understanding their body type. Nuts like almonds are dry and warm. I will share a recipe using nuts for your eyes later in this article.

Other Preventions:

  • Don’t stare at something for too long without blinking. Try to blink consciously sometimes to avoid your eyes from getting dry. It can be hard at first — once you become aware of your practice, it will be your new habit in no time.
  • Don’t walk on marbles barefoot. Our feet have nerve endings that are connected to our eyes. When you walk without slippers on marbles, it causes eye problems.
  • Avoid directly looking at the sun when the rays are too intense to protect your eyes from unnecessary stress.
  • Never put hot water on your eyes. Our eyes are sensitive organs — don’t risk damaging them by using hot water on them.
  • If possible, avoid taking baths at night and don’t try to look forcefully when the air is too strong. Avoid any situation that can cause stress in your eyes. Even putting too much mental stress can adversely affect your eye health.

I will share some healthy habits, tips, and tricks; implementing them in your daily life can improve your vision rapidly. Pick 2–3 from all of them, or perform them alternately. It’s all about consistency if you want to see results.

Effective Ayurvedic home remedies

I will share three ayurvedic remedies using everyday ingredients; you can effortlessly implement any two or at least one remedy in your daily life. They are not only good for

Your eyes can treat many problems regarding your nervous system as well. They don’t have any side effects, so don’t worry.

Take 2–3 soaked and crushed desi Giri almonds, 3 peppercorns, and mishri — put them into milk and boil them together. For optimum effectiveness, consume it in the morning.

You can use eyewash cups to wash your eyes every morning. Put a little amount of rose water[9] or Triphala juice and fill the remaining cup with clean drinking water. Change the mixer for each eye.

Take soaked almonds and walnuts, churn them in a stone mortar and pestle using hot milk. It would be best if you did not use any electric machine here. A stone mortar and pestle will give the best result.

I am sure these pieces of advice will help you improve your eyesight, as they have worked for me. They are from ancient Ayurvedic texts and experts. Be consistent for the results to show.
