In the month of Muharram, the sacred time begins,
A time of reflection, where solemn silence wins.
The first month of the lunar year, revered by all,
A period of mourning, where deep sorrows call.
Hussain, the noble, grandson of the Prophet dear,
Stood against tyranny, his message clear.
In the land of Karbala, under the scorching sun,
A tale of sacrifice, a battle hard won.
The waters of Euphrates, denied to Hussain's kin,
Yet their spirits unbroken, their faith deep within.
On the tenth of Muharram, Ashura’s fateful day,
A tragedy unfolded, in a heart-wrenching display.
Seventy-two stood firm, against thousands strong,
Defending truth and justice, against blatant wrong.
Al-Abbas, the valiant, with courage did stride,
Fetching water for children, with a lion's pride.
Zainab, the sister, her strength profound,
Witnessed the horror, with dignity unbound.
Ali Asghar, the infant, in his father's arms did lay,
A symbol of innocence, in the brutal fray.
The martyrdom of Hussain, a beacon so bright,
Illuminates the darkness, with an eternal light.
A lesson of resilience, of standing tall,
For justice and righteousness, heed his call.
Muharram is more than sorrow, it’s a pledge anew,
To uphold truth and justice, in all that we do.
In every heart that beats, in every tear that falls,
Hussein's legacy lives on, as every believer recalls.
From the plains of Karbala, to the hearts far and wide,
The story of Muharram, fills us with pride.
A month of reflection, of tears, and of grace,
A time to remember, the sacrifice and embrace.
