It's alright
They cried and fought and almost gave up
but it was hidden behind the flashes of the cameras
and the words of the traitors.
So, they went on.
Drowning in fake hopes.
Drinking all the cursed drops.

They told us they were alright
but did they ever really smile
when they were having the time of their lives?
I hope they are alright

So, they travelled like the planets in sync,
for the sunshine
and the glory
and the fame,
never looking within.
Cause they were dying within.
No, they weren't alright
so they parted ways.

Do you ever wonder
if they felt safe in the cupboard
away from the thunder
and the pouring rain
that washed the lies away?
So is it okay?
To hide the pain away?

So, they travelled like the planets in sync,
for the sunshine
and the glory
and the fame,
never looking within.
Cause they were dying within.
No, they weren't alright
so they parted ways.

Now they sit back in their houses
feeling nothing,
begging for the chance at it again.
Would they change it a bit
or look away?
Would they cry and fight,
for a glimpse of sunrise?
in the midst of rain
Tears falling with it
or would they just look away,
To have a home under the stars
And call them their own

But they travelled like the planets in sync,
for the sunshine
and the glory
and the fame,
never looking within.
Cause they were dying within.
No, they weren't alright
so they parted ways.

Now, I sit back in a house
with my name,
lying to myself
that it was worth
the scars on my wrist.
Maybe it's okay.
I am homeless
but no stars overhead,
just an empty heart,
weighing on my back.

Cause I travelled like a planet in sync,
for the sunshine
and the glory
and the fame,
never looking within.
Cause I was dying within.
No, I wasn’t alright
so we parted ways.
But it was too late.

It’s alright
I’m doing just fine
cause rain's falling outside
and it's okay.
