If only you could see me
like the first light of dawn
that steals a look through
a cranny in my closed window.

If only you could see me
in the sunshine
through the mask of detachment
rejoice the nearness of us.

If only you could see me
in the splendor of the twilight
as shades of emotions,weave,
a tapestry of the lonely evening ahead.

If only you could see me
in the dark of the night, wakeful
fighting inner demons and outer
darkness, that keeps us apart.

If only you could see me
in an instant of candor
in the mirror of your soul that’s
been oblique to the self and yonder.

if only you could see me
like the way I see you, and know
that ‘we,’ is not a mirage
simmering in the distance, but
a reality in waiting.
