So yesterday, I had a debate with my sister on AI. As she is a Btech student, she was so convinced that AI is a blessing, its invention is the biggest achievement of human beings. AI rectifies our problems within a blink. It makes our lives easier, it helps us with our daily routine jobs and many more such things.

In contrast to this, I had a different perspective. I did not say that AI does not do this. It’s obvious that it was invented to help us in our daily lives. But it doesn’t mean that it has only positive points. Though it was one of the biggest achievements, slowly AI is replacing humans. Let’s consider some points before reaching a conclusion.

AI: A Boon

Artificial Intelligence performs various tasks which boosts the productivity and efficiency of an organization, moreover, it helps a nation to grow in the digital world. There are numerous jobs that AI does in seconds which provides us with the best possible outcomes.

• Boosted Education System

AI made it easier for students to learn something in a personalized and effective way. Students can easily search for any topic with the help of AI which helps them boost their knowledge.

• Efficient Task

AI performs its task efficiently and effectively which enhances the overall productivity and growth of an industry. It can operate repetitive tasks which humans usually want to get rid of.

• Developments in Medical Field

By facilitating quicker and more accurate diagnoses, individualized treatment regimens, and medication development, AI is changing healthcare. This has the capacity to save innumerable lives and enhance medical results generally.

• Scientific Research

Artificial intelligence (AI) can analyze enormous volumes of data and help with challenging research tasks, speeding scientific discoveries and advancing numerous areas.

• Autonomous Systems

Drones and autonomous vehicles, which have the potential to lower accidents and increase transportation efficiency, are being developed as a result of AI.

Apart from this, there are many more tasks which AI can easily perform. If you wanna write an article, ask AI to do that for you. If you wanna do coding, ask AI to do that. If you wanna make an effective CV for your job profile, ask AI to do that for you. If you wanna do your assignments, ask AI to do that for you. Basically you can ask AI to do every single and small task of your daily life and it will do that for you.

Do you seriously think that it is a Boon?

AI: A Curse

Here comes my side, AI is a curse to human lives. We all know that somewhere AI is making our lives easier. But if you sit alone and contemplate it for a while, you will get to know that AI is gradually replacing humans.

Gradually we are relying upon AI so badly that we can’t even think of accomplishing a single task without AI. If we think about it, we will get to know that gradually it is hindering our skills, our talents. On one side where there should not be any limit in our talents, AI itself is setting a bar to our skills.

You just need to think about it once, you got an assignment from your college, you have to do proper research to write your assignments. Eventually, it will boost your knowledge. But what we are doing is we simply search the topic on Chatgpt and it does our assignments for us. You would love it once. But think about it, isn’t it creating a hindrance in your way of learning?

With the introduction of AI, people are not understanding how to learn certain skills. Because they think what’s the use if AI is there. To give just an example, before AI, people were compelled to learn how to make an effective CV for their job profiles, this boosts their skills. But now, we make our CVs in seconds with AI. Isn’t it setting a bar to our talent?

People are slowly becoming introverted and are less involved in making friends, and hanging out with them. Boom! AI has replaced that also. Now, individuals can chat with a robot. People find it funny and soothing to chat with a robot using AI. People usually share their problems with AI and surprisingly AI is giving them a response to that.

Isn’t it absurd? You are making robots, your friends and your real life friends are gradually going away. This is not funny guys. You need to think about its deep impact in the future. People will no longer be interested in making real life friends, but only robots. Can you imagine that world? Just about your childhood, was it like this? Were you not happy playing outside with your gang, making noise with them?

The moments that you used to share with your friends, those little fights, those streets that used to echo with your noise. Nothing will be the same and the change has started with the introduction of AI.

Not only this, nowadays, people are misusing AI for their personal benefits. Even till here we could manage the things and accept that AI is a boon, as there will always be a positive and a negative point. But, later cases were not acceptable at any cost.

Recently, a case went viral. A person used a picture of a girl and with the help of AI, he somehow converted that picture to a nude picture and started blackmailing that girl that he would viral the picture or she has to fulfill his demands. That girl was so scared and could not even think to tell her parents about it thinking that it would ruin her life. Somehow she gathered courage and told the police about it. Later they found out that the man used AI and morphed her picture to blackmail her.

Another astonishing case went viral. An AI expert somehow created the face of a girl through AI. He used his creativity and video-called her father with an unknown number. The man identified that she was his daughter. The AI expert demanded for some amount using that girl’s face which was actually an AI. The father instantly transferred the amount thinking that his daughter was in trouble. Later, when his daughter returned home, he asked his daughter about the amount she had no clue about. They then understood that it was a trap and filed a complaint. However, there is no update yet.

This is how people are misusing the power of AI for their personal benefits. Obviously, it is not the fault of AI but the user. It depends on how a person is using that. But the point is that, AI has given them the power to do this. Anything which is creating a bad impact on the youths of this generation cannot be a boon regardless of how many times it makes our lives easier.

It was a human who created AI. IT means that humans are way more intelligent than Artificial Intelligence. Why are the youths of today's generation relying upon AI so badly? They need to realize that they are way more valuable, intelligent and talented than AI and stop relying upon AI for their small tasks.

I’m not saying to boycott AI. But use it only till where it does not hinder your personal space, your skills and talent. People need to realize that AI can never be a boon to humans. The biggest Boon to humans is Human Brains, feelings, love, and affection which robots and AI can never replace.
