The gentle light of the breaking dawn filtered in,

That beckoned her to discover its secrets within.

Guardedly to the front door, she did tiptoe,

GOD! She just went with the flow.

The utter devastation and fury that nature unleashed last night,

The pockmarked landscape looked more like a lustful rapist’s bite.

Glancing nervously over the hedge,

Giant cyclone, between lovers of nature drove a wedge.

Shifting her gaze back to the farthermost corner,

Still unable to put her fears on the back burner.

Shell shocked at the dead body of a stranger that she saw,

Still wanting to be on the right side of the law, for it was not her flaw.
