A Brahmin lived in a village. He and his family used to earn their living by worshiping God in the temple every day and doing alms in the nearby village. He could earn only enough to survive. His wife would always taunt him that you serve God so much, yet we are so poor. How will we be able to support our family? Even then, the brahmin would laugh and tell his wife that you don't worry, all God is watching. All will be well. Panditji had a son. Who was very intelligent and honest. His name was Vasu. Basu Vasu was fond of reading different texts and books. He knew his father's financial condition. That's why he was a little shy to talk about going out. Then one day some priests and Pandits came to the village. All of them were going to Kashi Vidyapeeth. 

He met Vasu till he stayed in the village, his Vasu did a lot of services and his Guruji was very much inspired by Vasu's work. He asked Vasu to bring his father tomorrow. According to Guruji, he brought his father. Guruji told his father to take Vasu with him to Kashi and study astrology. Father's financial condition was not good. He thought and told Guruji that if God has such a wish, then you should take Vasu. What was then, Guruji took Vasu to Benares to teach. Vasu also engaged in the study of Vedas and Puranas, scriptures. Time eloped. When Vasu came back to his village, he had become a very good Pandit. People from far and wide used to bring their troubles and horoscopes. Through astrology and with his wisdom, he started solving everyone's problems. Only then the king came to know about this, he also came to Vasu to solve some problems. A river used to flow in their capital. Its water is used to dry up often during summers. The water problem continued. Vasu told the king, Rajan, you should get a pond constructed in your state so that whatever rainwater comes, it will get collected in the pond. Due to which, water will also be conserved and the problem of water scarcity coming in summer will also end, so you should get a pond constructed. The king liked the proposal and he was so impressed by Vasu's knowledge that he proposed the marriage of his daughter to Vasu's father. The father also agreed and both of them got married happily. Panditji's family started living happily.
