Ram's character has attracted writers, poets, artists, and intellectuals for thousands of years, and rarely an area where there is no discussion of Ram's character or Ramayana. Ram Katha is the complete poetry, complete story and complete drama. It is because of this perfection that Ram Katha has been considered as infinite as Harikatha. Father Kamil Bulke came from a far country and studied Ram Katha seriously and resulted in a big book like Ram Katha. If the whole perspective of Ramkatha is seen, such a book has not been available in any other language.
The characters of Ram Katha are described in Vedic literature. Perhaps Ram Katha's discourse must have been a little too much in those days. The names of Dashrath, Ram etc have also been mentioned. Sita has been defined as the goddess of agriculture and another Sita has been depicted as the daughter of the sun. The word Sita has also come many times. In Vedic literature, the names of Ramayana-related characters come in different forms, but they are not related to each other. The story object of Ram Katha is also not visible. Balmiki Krit Ramayana can be considered the first and most authentic book. There is also a description of Ram Katha in Mahabharata. Ramatha is described in the Aranya festival, Dronaparva etc. There is also a detailed description of Ram Katha in Buddhist literature. In fact, the book named Dashrath Jatak is considered the basis of Ram Katha. Thousands of scholars have explained Ramkatha originally.
The story of Ram Katha had become trending long before the birth of the adi-poet Balmiki. Valmiki presented this narrative as Ramkatha Ramayana for the first time on a detailed and contemporary basis. For the original source in Ramkatha, western scholar A. Weber has considered Dashrath Jatak as the basis. The second base is considered to be of Homer, but Homer's original story is very different from the Ramayana's narrative, therefore the basis of Ram Katha is two three independent narratives, which was later presented by Balmiki as Pirokar Ramayana in the Katha Sutra.
Dr. Yakobi has divided the base of Ram Katha into two parts which have been considered historical while the original source of the narrative in the other part is considered the narratives of the gods described in Vedic literature. There are differences among scholars regarding the history of Ramkatha. On one hand, Nitant imagination is considered a support and on the other hand, there are people who consider it a historical fiction.
How would the early development of Ramkatha have happened? What were the factors that together would have created Ram Katha? Actually Ramkatha has spread in our culture since the beginning. Ramkatha was conducted in all three religions Brahmin, Buddhist and Jain. Ram Katha was effectively performed in other literature, culture and art.
Ramkatha was used in detail even in Sanskrit literature. Even after Valmiki, many poets, and writers made the basis of Ramkatha. Ram Katha was developed in both religious, literature and fine literature.
Ramkatha has been given enough place in other Indian languages too. Kambadh Krit Ramayana, Rangnath Krit Dwipada Ramayana, Tikkan Krit post Ramayana, Molla Ramayana, Raghunath Ramayana, Ramcharitam, Anand Ramayana, Spirituality Ramayana, etc. are the main Ram story books.
Ram Katha is also described in Sinhali language, Kashmiri language, Assamese etc. Kritivas Krit Ramayana is the main Ramkatha book of Bengali. The famous Ramkatha book of Hindi and Avadhi is Ramcharit Manas, whose all other books are faded.
Narendra Kohli's novel series based on Ramkatha is also worth reading.
There is Bhavarth Ramayana in Marathi language written by Eknath. Ram stories are also written in Urdu Persian. Albadayuni has translated Ramayana to Persian. Ramayana Masihi was also written in Jahangir period.
Tibet Ramayana, Khotani Ramayana, Hindeshia Ramayana, Malayan Arvachina Ramkatha, Japan's Ramkatha etc are also available.
There is something in Ramkatha that attracts everyone. Politics, religion, modernity, and domestic-foreign are all influenced by Ram's story. In times of sadness and happiness, in the evening of life, failure in moments of disappointment, despair, even today the only dependent of thousands of people is Ram Katha. Those who cannot read Valmiki Krit Ramayana can not understand. They understand nasalized or read the ram story of their language and ease their grief pain. Not only Ram, but other characters of Ramayana are also superior in character portraying and whenever they are read it seems that the entire event is related to the person's life. This is why the separation of religion affects a person psychologically. Apart from religion, and politics, Ramkatha is an extremely superior narrative and for thousands of years to come, it will continue to attract writers.
