As the elections are approaching very fast in Telangana Assembly, all the political parties are busy with their political strategies and wish to win the assembly elections by hook or by crook.
As we know that Mr. KCR chief minister of Telangana announced 115/119 assembly seats on August 21, 2023. He did not announce the candidate for the 4 assembly constituencies Nampally, Goshamahal, Jangaon, and Narsapur. He just wants to please the sitting MLAs and he may change the candidate while giving them the “B” form. He just doesn’t want to take any risk and be the first party in Telangana to announce the seat much before the other parties. The BRS is worried that if they don’t give seats there is every possibility that the MLAs may shift their loyalties to other parties. The other political Parties are also encouraging and attracting the MLAs by assuring them hope and contesting assembly seats and recognition. As we know Mr KCR is known for being an astute politician and he knows the pulse of the voters.
Mr. KCR is contesting from two places one being the Gajwel and the other being Kamareddy. He wanted to make a hat trick this time and work out with good political strategies and he knows the pulse of the voters. Mr. KCR is also confident this time and he will win between 95 to 105 seats. Mr. KCR further said they wish to continue their friendship with a friendly party of AIMIM. He has chosen Kamareddy just because Mr.Gampa Goverdhan of the BRS has won the elections from Kamareddy for four consecutive terms 2009,2011,2014 and 2018. Mr. KCR is confident of his welfare scheme that will certainly fetch in the form of votes and he has further requested all the contesting MLAs to popularize the schemes the majority of the voters are benefitted from such schemes and wish to attract the voters.
Mr. KCR is rectifying the negativity of BRS and He has corrected the dark blotches of mistakes of RTC employees bringing them into Government employees’ fold. The RTC strike took nearly 56 innocent employees' lives and he wishes to gain the confidence of nearly 43,000 and more employees and their families by keeping up his promise before the commencement of elections. Mr. KCR would like to utilize his tenure to his best by giving sops to the voters and wishes to satisfy all the sections of the people and to make a hattrick this time. He knows pretty well it will not be a cakewalk for him to win the elections.
The BJP has finalized nearly 30 seats (not announced) and that too all the prominent leaders will be contesting for assembly elections. The BJP wanted to win the elections by any means and they are facing the problem of identifying strong candidates they wish to attract prominent leaders and dissidents from other parties to their fold. The BJP central leadership is working on good strategies and sending 119 MLAs from other BJP-ruled states to study every constituency and wish to give moral support and confidence to the contesting candidates. The BJP at the centre is keen on Telangana state assembly elections and they want to en-cash the anti-incumbency votes to their favour. The Hype was created by the state leaders after winning a few assembly seats and GHMC elections in 2020 giving confidence that the voters are in favour of the BJP. Certainly, the BJP may cross two digits this time as it has a stronghold in Hyderabad Secunderabad, and other urban areas.
The Congress after winning the Karnataka elections the cadre is working hard with rejuvenated enthusiasm and the Bharat Jodo yatra also proved to be very successful. The present leadership is working hard with care and adopting the best strategies and assuring seats only to the prominent young and dynamic who are working with the people in their respective constituencies. The advantages are that many dissidents have joined the Congress from BRs and a few prominent members who joined earlier with BJP are also willing to join the Congress now. Mrs. Sharmila floated a party YSRCP Telangana and most likely may join the Congress she may be given the responsibility of the Andhra Pradesh Congress president post and she will be given a very prominent post at the centre and they may wish to consider a few seats for her those who worked with her during her Pada Yatra.
The Congress has an edge over the BJP and may give a tough fight to the present BRS. Majority surveys proved that Congress will win a good number of seats to form the government. The Congress party is taking applications from the contesting candidates and we can see many prominent people are willing to contest this time so far, they have received more than 1000 applications for 119 constituencies. The Congress has very strong hold in all districts of Telangana except for Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy Districts.
When we look at all the major parties everyone has the confidence of forming the government. In the last elections, TRS won 88 seats, Congress 19, AIMIM 7(Hyderabad), TDP 2, and BJP won one seat.
The BRS is trying their best for the hattrick and the BJP is trying hard to consolidate their strength. The Congress is confident of forming the government and most of the surveys indicate that the Congress will certainly form the government in the 2023-24 assembly elections. The present assembly elections of Telangana state will be very interesting, the fight between three parties (BRS, Congress, and BJP) and it will be a triangular contest in most of the constituencies. Whoever wins will have a small margin only. The anti-incumbency votes against the present BRs government will favour the BJP or the Congress we have to wait and see.
