Recovery is not a straight road. It is a path filled with more downs than ups. It takes a lot of character and strength to admit to the story of more defeats than victories. Healing from trauma of any kind is a long and painful process by itself.
Every turn in a seemingly endless journey feels almost impossible. The continuously capricious journey is taxing to say the very least. Every day is a fight to keep the journey going. The alarming reality is that many believe it is a journey to empowerment and strength, while most of the time it is that of survival.
The trauma be it physical, emotional, or a complex mix of both, damage and change a person permanently. The ability to retain the originality is really hard and very few maintain it so. Most of the time the damage breaks a person's core beliefs and changes him completely. The topic draws notice to the fact that all villains are just damaged heroes at the core.
Well, I am not justifying the need for a change or transformation. At the very least I am just drawing attention to the sometimes strongly ignored reality. Hurt and pain are the factors laying a foundation for strong character development. This is a fact which is believed by all the achievers and big names in the world, no matter the generation.
The constant pain and discomfort make an individual draw into himself and change certain traits. This profound inner introspection is that small bit which makes the repeated loser become a victor eventually.
The brilliance of seeing the need to keep going is just so subtle. They want to let it all go is always just so strong, but to keep toiling with a bare reward is what defines it all. The crux of the reality is the inherent need to win oneself back from the drawbacks is what is necessary. Healing means not just fixing the problems but seeing a better alternative.
The ability to see the Sun in spite of the fog-covered sky is that champion quality. These remarkably small changes are the reason for healing. While all the battles for survival keep going on and on, the one with the heart in the right place wins it without question.
