The major issue in the Indian college education system nowadays is that students do not know what they want to do in their lives. They are just followers who don't have their own specific aim in life. The worst thing is they look at their friends, family members, and relatives becoming successful in something and blindly start following them. Later they come to know that this was not their liking, and they go aimless, finally becoming unsuccessful in life.
Another crucial issue is students do not consider college as a place of higher learning. They think that a college is a place of enjoyment. Since they are mature, the teachers will of course not thrash them like kids. But out of their foolishness, they think that if the teacher is not saying anything, why attend lectures? Most of the students do not attend lectures, they do not go to labs and their attendance is almost zero. God knows what type of higher studies they are doing. And the dilemma is that they know very well that they will get jobs on the basis of their graduation and post-graduation percentage and still they are not serious.
Even most parents in India do not know what the value is of completing studies in a particular field. Brainlessly they have declared since the last many years that only B.Tech & MBBS are good courses and the rest of all-other courses are useless. Not only do they say it, but they also stop their children from doing any other course except B.Tech & MBBS. If the son and daughter of some friend or relative are Doctors or Engineers, they will humiliate their own children in front of them. This kills the general ability and intellect of their children and makes them go against them ultimately leading to broken families. Now B.Tech and MBBS are no doubt the most respectable and most prestigious courses, but why force them on your children?
Another big question is, in a 24-hour timeframe, if students are wasting 20 hours of their time in online games, social, media, useless chats, pubs, bars & shopping malls & remaining 4 hours purchasing household goods, when will they have time for studies? This is the reason why they score less & after graduation & PG, become a part of the unemployed crowd of India.
One more crucial issue is students are less involved in their studies and more involved in making political connections to get jobs after completing their studies. Add to this a flavor of TV shows and internet series which are taking them away from studies and creating a hypothetical world in their mind where people become successful and rich without any effort.
These are the major issues of students in India which are taking them away from their studies and making them good for nothing. Such students, after completing their graduation run for favors that some friend and relative should provide them with some job. It is because they have no idea how to utilize their qualification and earn money. They don't know what job is associated with a particular kind of qualification.
If students seriously want to change this situation, they must study with some aim in life. First of all, they must decide what they want to become in their lives and then choose specific courses for their graduation & PG. Otherwise, unemployment will never go from India.
