It is true that we are Indians and the major language that we speak here in India is Hindi. Hindi is spoken on a daily basis because it is our own language. Either we talk to people in our community, society, and offices in our local language or we make use of Hindi language primarily. English is majorly used only on specific occasions for example if we have to write something in English or if at a certain location we have to speak something in English. 

It is also true that during jobs we mainly speak in Hindi to our colleagues as we are Indians but whatever professional activities that are going on in the job market, all those activities are done in English. We write business letters and proposals in English, we participate in official seminars and conferences in English, and we write emails to our boss or official clients in English. This is the reason why English is the language of the corporate sector. And if we want to be Global, knowledge of English is a must. Along with that, we must have good knowledge of the subject in which we are doing our graduation and post-graduation because only on that basis do we get jobs in the corporate sector. As a student, we must study our subjects thoroughly on a daily basis, not from the point of view of qualifying for the examination but from the point of view of gaining knowledge that is present in our course books.

But nowadays students in colleges do not understand the importance of having good command over spoken English and the importance of having good command over their core subjects. That is the reason attending college is just a casual affair and they are not excited and enthusiastic about the lectures that they are attending. They are not enthusiastic about the lab experiments that they are doing in their laboratories. They are not excited towards the seminars and conferences which there institutions are regularly organising for their knowledge upgradation. Along with that, there is a huge misconception in our Indian community that college life is a life of enjoyment. Ladies & gentlemen, college life is not a life of enjoyment. College life is a time when you need to be highly sincere because just after finishing your college the time comes when you will hit the job market. And once you hit the job market you will be treated as a professional, not as a student. During student life, if we do not attend college on time nobody says anything to us. If we do not submit assignments on time to our professors, they do not punish us much. Even if willingly we do not attend some crucial seminar and conference at our university, still nobody says anything to us. But if we do not come to the office on time as working professionals, if we do not finish our official assignments on time, and if we do not attend crucial official meetings on time, we get fired by our organisations.

That is why it is necessary that students must have a particular aim in life and they should move ahead keeping that aim in their mind. Their sole focus should be on getting good jobs and that is only possible if they are studying their subject sincerely and behaving as a sincere student in colleges or universities, wherever they are studying.

For improving their spoken English students must read English material on a daily basis, listen to English motivational speakers and news anchors on YouTube on a daily basis and they should try to talk to each other on a daily basis in English. In our society, if we do not find people who speak English regularly,  we must speak in front of the mirror on a daily basis, making eye contact with our own Mirror image. Our Mirror image acts as a second person and hence we gain confidence if we practice this thing regularly.

Future of students is in their own hands. Either they make it or break It.
