It’s pretty easy to say that the world is really vast. But it goes far beyond that! Our eye can only see up to a certain distance and angle, as far as it can wander. Most of us don’t even know what makes the world so beautiful, since everything is easily given, and its abundance that leads to the thought of taking it for granted.

While large-scale organisms like humans, animals, etc are easily noticeable, small-scale organisms like microbes, plants, reptiles, etc are left in the dark leading to their extinction.

“Every living and non living is a part of the world and they live to coexist together.”

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE!

It’s not hard to realise the fact that micro and macro organisms have a greater influence on the environment. No one living on this earth can live independently. Even plants depend on the energy of the sun, water, and other factors for preparing their food through photosynthesis. It just states how each living and non-living have a particular role to play in this vast world, and if even one of the processes is disrupted, it leads to the downfall of one another.

The best illustration can be the earthworms in the soil. Such small microorganisms, Why?

Most of us know how earthworms feed on living organisms and other residues present in the soil, by breaking them down into enzymes, which serve as nutrients for plants. If plants are the main actors, earthworms can be the best-supporting actors out there to provide healthy soil for them. A single process is linked to the other, similar to how not adding sugar to Tea can be pretty much bitter. Every ingredient (every process) plays a vital role in tea, making it both aromatic and sweet.

It’s both the main and supporting actors that make the world so crystal clear and different.

“If the world is a stage, biotic and Abiotic are actors making that brand new stage beautiful.”

If people can see every living with care and supremacy, a bigger difference can be made in their perspective toward the world. It’s not ‘You’ or ‘We’ anymore, it’s ‘Our’ environment with many leading actors, since every organism strives for it’s life in its own way. Lives are interlinked and there is no single organism and process playing an important role anymore (plants release oxygen for respiration and humans in turn release CO²). There are leading actors, supporting actors or even organisms playing as both.

If you take a closer look at the world, you will see that it is filled with intriguing living organisms and lifestyles. Even the placement of coconuts at centre of the coconut tree, can be pretty much interesting. They are balanced and help small mammals like bats to balance their lives as well.

“Things that seem to be interesting to human eye, can later result in care and love.”

The further one’s perspective goes, the better world can be achieved for communal living. Commence looking further instead of looking away from it!

CLIMATE AT FINGERTIPS!

Are humans real magicians? Do they really have the power to control the climate?

The climate change so often provides an unsustainable environment. It changes so often when humans are involved with activities such as burning fossil fuels, cutting down trees, etc resulting in enormous greenhouse gases to that are naturally occurring.

It becomes a great impact and problem when it is exceeded more than the limit. We started using more to suit our daily living purposes, but what about other living organisms and the change in their lifestyle because of the climatic change?

The main cause of climate change has become the green house gas effect. Anything more than the limit is definitely harmful! And so, the high concentration of greenhouse (CO2, CH4, N2O2…) too. If human activities induce global warming at the rate of 0.2°C per decade, what will become of our future? We are becoming antagonists to our very own future and environment, tarnishing the wonderful colours of leading and supporting actors. Remember that every living being and lifestyle is associated to other. If a negative change occurs, it is only natural to affect all in some way.

It can be the change of environment for a particular species leading to its extinction, or even the change in the organism itself, not being able to adapt to the environment.

“A change is not necessarily an action but a reaction!”

We are one big family with certain associations through various processes, playing our roles significantly to aid our only purpose, that is ‘to survive’ and live peacefully. Some adjustments to make each living better is not a big task, being one of the leading actors. Make a better stage(environment) creating a better world together. A small action is enough to create a bigger reaction. Even if you set up small saplings or sprinkle some water on a dying plant, it only gives a purpose to new life and lifestyle.

Start from small things that do a greater influence for better impact on living.

INTERACTION AMONG ACTORS!

How does an actor interact with another actor? Do they communicate like humans?

It’s the ecosystem that makes them interact with each other! The ecosystem helps the organisms of maintain a sustainable lifestyle and balances the world equally.

A simple example in the ecosystem can be,

   Grass -                       Deer -                               Lion
(Producer)  (Herbivore Consumer)  (Carnivore Consumer)

If even one of these organisms disappears from this cycle, it leads to the extinction of the other. It would be hard to make a living for that particular organism, without its prey. And so, this cycle continues to balance the life of each living on this planet. The ecosystem has to exist for a balanced lifestyle and living. It is rather a cycle involving many processes, which link various organisms’ lives and survival.

What if the ecosystem is unbalanced? The unbalanced ecosystem does not necessarily have a bad impact as the organism can try its best to survival, without depending on a single supporting actor at this time. But if the unbalanced ecosystem continues due to climate change, deforestation, or other factors, it would lead to the enormous extinction of many species.

In the chemical reaction of water(H2O),

  H2 + O2.      ≠.      H2O

 (Reactant).        (Product)

Adding 2 moles on the product and reactant side would make it a balanced equation.

2H2 + O2 = 2H2O

Similarly, for an unbalanced ecosystem, one can start in simple ways such as encouraging afforestation, management of natural resources, preventing water wastage, use of biofuels, and reducing fossil fuel use, making both leading and supporting actors equal. Only the ways are different, but continued effort can result in a bigger impact.

Just like chemical reactions, once the process to balance is commenced, it can be interesting and engaging at the same time.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

India’s population is nearly 142.8 crore in 2023. With a massive population, setting goals for a new future, where every organism can live peacefully is hardly a dream. What makes the world so beautiful is the leading and supporting actors known as “Organisms”.

If you are the one who is going to start a change, it’s never too late because a good change always starts late. If everyone understands the fact that all organisms are equally predominant, a better planet suitable for every living and non-living can definitely be created!

TOO SOON, TOO MUCH, and TOO HARD are the words to be avoided to make a stable world together!
