Russo–Ukrainian War The main reason for the Russo–Ukrainian war was that Russia acquired Crimea and annexed it from Ukraine. The Russo-Ukrainian war is Ukraine’s Revolution of Dignity. The war began in 2014 and is still ongoing.
The area acquired by Russia:
Acquired Area | Year of Acquisition: Crimea |
Mea and parts of four southeast Ukrainian Oblasts | 2014 and 2022. |
Russia annexed 20% of Ukrainian territory | As of June’ 2026 |
| Acquired Area | Year of Acquisition Involved |
Ukrainian annexed of parts of Russia’s Kursk Oblast | 2024 |
When the question arose about the end of the Russo-Ukrainian war, we could gather enough information from various sources to judge that there was no evidence indicating that it would come to an immediate end. Moreover, the conflict escalated into severe drone warfare and destructions, only. Moscow residents reportedly complain of black rain. Russia denied that any ‘Oil Rain’ had been falling.
Around 200 drones were fired by Ukraine towards the capital of Russia. Major escalation could be seen on the internet in the deadly Russia-Ukraine war. It was not a movie scenario; the internet witnessed a live drone attack in Moscow. Moscow seemed painted in burning orange and dark grey hues as fire lit up parts of the sky following a massive Ukrainian drone strike on a key Moscow oil refinery. An oil tank lid was blasted 100 meters into the air during a Ukrainian drone attack in Moscow. Ukrainian said, “Drone attacks are a response to last week’s Russian strikes on Kyiv.”
The attack occurred on the night of June 15, 2026, when Russian forces launched a massive drone and missile attack across Ukraine. Russia hit Kyiv’s 1,000-year-old Christian monastery, the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, founded in 1051 and also known as the Monastery of the Caves, in Kyiv, Ukraine. The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra is a UNESCO-listed heritage site with a history of nearly 1,000 years.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the attack a “FAIR” Response to Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities. Neither one of them was taking the initiative to agree to a ceasefire, but Ukraine increased the number of strikes inside Russia and launched one of its largest drone attacks on Moscow, reportedly striking the Moscow Oil Refinery and key infrastructure belonging to a major fuel supplier. These attacks led to significant destruction, humanitarian concerns, economic disruptions, and growing fears among innocent civilians. At least 17 people were wounded in the strikes, as a residential building and a shopping centre were also hit. Reportedly, oil refineries remain frequent targets of drone attacks in Moscow.
Major Ukrainian drone names include:
Reportedly, Russia might be planning a major counterattack against Ukraine. “Russia will carry out ‘massive coordinated strikes’ regularly against Ukraine,” said Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, following a major and frequent Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow. According to the Russian Defence Ministry, almost 1000 drones and 4 cruise missiles were intercepted in 24 hrs.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin mentioned, “City air defences destroyed some 180 Ukrainian drones on approach to Moscow; however, several managed to strike an oil refinery.”
Videos circulating on the internet show drones repeatedly striking facilities, causing huge explosions, while other drones hit an apartment building. The whole sky turned dark with black smoke. The biggest impact was on the travel industry, as the city’s airports suspended operations.
Reportedly, Moscow airports were closed for hours, leading to hundreds of flight delays at one of Russia’s busiest hubs, Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO), located 29 km northwest of central Moscow, where several passengers were evacuated.
In war, no one wins; but humanity dies, and innocent lives suffer. A nation’s economy declines. We are all connected; one war between two countries can lead others to wage war. It’s all one life, and one should spread peace, unity and happiness for the well-being of humanity and a nation’s prestige.
In war, there is no gain, only loss. It’s all about land and acquiring power. But death is certain. Make life worth living. War leads us nowhere but to destruction. It’s better if these two countries shake hands and approach a ceasefire. It’s all for the sake of humanity and peace.
