This article will be focused on an issue which is causing the destruction of the globe, especially Bharat. Many organizations, NGOs, Green tribunal all are trying to tell people about the importance of the environment and its protection. We see much cry over the planting of trees and not cutting them. Not cutting the trees is the best thing that could happen to earth. But due to the globalization, population, and we all want Bharat to lead the world, our government is concentrating on infra structural developments, resulting in usage of natural resources. New express highways, new roads even in villages reflect the prosperity and we feel proud that Bharat is marching ahead.

But at what cost? Let us see one by one.

1. Because of the infrastructural developments, a lot of natural resources are being used and are decreasing in an alarming rate.
2. Because of people’s mentality of owning more than one house, again the natural resources are consumed in an alarming rate.
3. Tier 3 and tier 4 cities are expanding and because of this farming lands are being converted into housing plots.
4. Urbanization, is causing our cities to become concrete jungles resulting in rain water going waste.
5. The enormous usage of natural resources like sand and M sand, black rock chips for roads have become a profitable zero investment business for many people.
6. Let us take Tamilnadu for example. All the river beds have been robbed off the sand, the paths where once upon a time, clear water used to run now has become a mud path. No fish reproduction, causing further imbalance in the ecosystem.
7. M sand is used instead of sand and it is not a good alternate. Because M sand is nothing but the powder produced by crushing rocks in the mountains.
8. In Tamilnadu many small hillocks have been blown and the rocks and powders have been used for construction of roads and houses.

Is this a good symptom? If this goes on, then in a few years there will not be any hillocks left in Tamilnadu. I am not a geologist or have studied about the environment changes that could result from such actions. But I know that, destruction of hillocks will not cause a good impact on the environment.

Green tribunal protects forests and other areas. But no one is bothered about the quarrying going around. Who decides which hillock should be converted into quarry? When they decide such things, do opinion of environmentalist are taken? If no, then why not?

Some hillocks are just remaining as a single big rock and some have been totally destructed. There is a big hole where there once stood a lovely hillock where birds used to build their nests in the trees. This further affects the eco system. Already many birds such as tailor birds, sparrows have become extinct even in the rural areas of Tamilnadu. If this passion for destructing the hillocks and rivers continue, then Tamilnadu will have no birds left except for crows.

Now let us think about the solution. After considering all those issues, the question in our mind is, “Is there a solution to this chaos?” May be yes. I strongly believe that nature has a solution for everything. Let us ponder over. Here the main problem seems to be population. It has to be controlled and being controlled by people. But still there are certain families who think, only boys make the vansh forward. This might change in time, but social activists must address such problems.

Next is owing more than one house. Bharat is a free country and has given its citizens tremendous freedom. If a law is passed stating that one family one home, then there will be havoc in the entire country and people will find out other ways to make use of the loop holes in that law. So, this is also not a solution.

Then what is the remedy? Let us think. Changing the mentality of crores and cores of people over night is an impossible task. But at the same time environment is dangerously diminishing. Un bearable heat during summer, non- stop rains during monsoons and too much of cold during winter are the indication that mother nature is warning us. If we don’t listen to those warnings, then it is not the nature, but it’s us who will be losing everything. This is not written just to scare, not even a single word is an exaggeration.

We need to protect our natural resources and at the same time leap on the growth path. How is it possible. It is the time for Indian scientists to come forward.

On behalf of all Bharatis, I request the great scientists of Bharat to discover, invent some material which would replace sand or M sand, steel and any other natural resources. We have plastic wastes in a very large quantity. Please pay attention to that and find a way to convert those waste plastics into building materials. Chemical factories produce lots of waste chemical as by products. And they are simply dumped somewhere.

Please analyze those chemicals whether they could be converted into bricks or any other building materials. Bharat have been giving birth to great scientists like Sir C V Raman, Dr. Homi Bhabha, Vikram Sarabhai and many others. Even before history began Varaha Mihira calculated the planets and the distance between them. Bhaskara gave mathematical questions. Arya Bhatta invented zero. The now scientists of India are their intellectual descendants. They can achieve anything if they wish. I am appealing to every scientist of Bharat to work towards this. When we can produce Co-vaccine, why not this?

So, all scientist Please pay attention and design experiments towards making artificial building materials, which could effectively replace natural resources. If they succeed, then that will be the greatest gift Bharat could give to this world. Please, remember there is no Planet B.
