Suddenly a gush of wind from window blew away all the things from the top of the table.

Hurriedly, I closed the window and looked back. A pile of papers had unfurled here and there.

"Oh Jesus", all are the important papers of my thesis.

While grabbing my papers, somebody knocked on my door.

"knock, knock" Who is it?

"Mrs. Merlin here."

I opened the door happily, thinking my neighbor would help me organize my research papers.

"Hi, Mrs. Merlin, long time no see.

Yeah, Mary, I was on vacation with my family.

Oh, that's great. You are so lucky to have a beautiful family, I whispered.

"Oh Gosh, Mary your room looks so messy with scattered research papers.

Let me help you to arrange them", Mrs. Merlin chuckled.

"Yeah, Thank you, sweetheart :)": I said with ecstasy.

While piling up the papers we were discussing on random topics.

Suddenly I came across a little box covered with dust.

Hey, Mrs. Merlin, "see what I have found from this mess".

Oh, such a cute box, Mary.

Let me help you to open it."

"No Thanks, sweetheart, I will open it in a quiet place."

This box has a lot of memories of our togetherness which I miss every single day.

Mrs. Merlin said, "What a pleasant aroma coming from your kitchen". Are you cooking anything special with pumpkin in this chilled weather?

Yeah, pumpkin cupcakes for orphaned kids and old grandparents on the eve of New Year.

Do you wanna taste it?

Mrs. Merlin, chuckled "Of course, why not dear. I was eagerly waiting to have an exciting dish from your kitchen.".

I kept the box on the table and walked towards the kitchen to grab a small piece of cake.

Mrs. Merlin was astonished by the taste of the cake and expressed wow while taking a bite of the cake.

I'm just in love with your recipes, Mary.

Just pass me your pumpkin cupcake recipe so that I can cook for my family on the special eve.

But credit goes to you Mary with much love.

"I will catch you later, need to pick up my kids from school, take care, darling," Mrs. Merlin squealed.

Closed my door with a loud sound. "Thud"

Then I walked to my bedroom and carried the dusty box and kept it on the bed.'

Cleaned the box with a cloth and tried to open it. The lock got jammed for decades.

With little difficulty, I managed to open the box.

Tears rolled down my cheeks when I found my family and my darling husband's pictures.

I found a lot of stuff in that tiny box.

A heart-shaped pendant, a dry petal of my first rose flower, breast milk stored in a small pouch, and one rupee coin with a lot of memories.

As the time was running out for the day, I ran to the kitchen to pack the cupcakes and pudding for kids and grandparents.

Rearranged all the stuff from the box and kept it aside till my return.

Booked the cab and reached the orphanage.

Kids got so much excited by my arrival. With mist eyed in the name of my husband and my unborn kid, I fed the kids with my yummy cakes and pudding.

They got happy by eating the cake and gave me a bubbly shubbly goodbye till we meet again as I have to head towards to old age home in short time.

The smiles on the faces of the kids pacified my shattered poor soul.

I couldn't hold my tears, grabbed the door of the car, and headed towards the old age home.

Grandparents happily welcomed me to their place with a sweet gesture.

I was surprised to see how happy they were to see me after a long time.

I fed them cakes with my hands and distributed warm garments as the chilling winter knocked on the door.

I felt so blessed that I got a chance to heal my soul by taking care of them.

I spent some hours with them and moved back to my house before dawn.

While arranging my bed, suddenly the box fell and all the stuff got scattered here and there.

I picked up all the stuff carefully and suddenly all the memories flashed back.

While cherishing the moments, I hold the heart pendant gifted by my parents when they left me near my grandmother at the age of 2 years old.

A life without parents is like a lamp without oil. Anyway, I managed to grow up as a strong and independent woman by myself. I faced a lot of hurdles to deal with every hard situation throughout my journey.

Pendant was lil rusty and my parents' photos got lil bit cracked due to decades. A drop of tear fell down on the pendant which rejuvenated those happy moments during my childhood days.

I lost my parents in a car accident which was a gloomy day for me and my sweet grandmother.

This small pendant carried a lot of special moments with my parents.

I kept the pendant and found a little saggy and old petal of rose flower carefully stored in the box. This rose flower was given by my husband when we met for the first time before deciding to get married.

It was one of my special days when Mr. Johnson came into my life and swayed all the gloomy memories from my life. He was my great supporter and best friend too. He was lovable and understandable.

Rose Petal carried those special moments when he proposed to me in the presence of a crowd. I cried happily when I saw my dream turned into real but I was unaware that one day I would lose him so early.

We have promised to stay together till our last breath but the disease separated us physically but not from the soul. We may be two separate bodies but one soul.

I kept that petal carefully as It is the symbol of our pure and eternal love. Breast milk in the pouch took me to those gloomy days when I lost my first baby due to the negligence of doctors.

He was so much in tiny in size that I barely hold his little fingers. I breastfed him with my milk but unfortunately due to a delay in treatment, I lost him.

When I was a kid, I had a habit of eating chocolates. My grandmother never denies to give a single rupee to me. That one rupee coin was given to me by my grandmother for the first time for chocolate.

I felt nostalgic while cherishing these moments. I kept the boxes carefully aside to cherish them once again in the journey.
