I remember when it happened.

The first lighting stroke and a tree collapsed. I remember the sound of windows shattering, And when the world was at it's end.

I wonder about my lover.
Wonder how afraid she would be without me. I wonder about my mother
Who covers her ears as she sleeps.

I wonder about my friends,
Who was out on a smoking streak?
I wonder whether they reached home, Through the stormy, watered streets.

I wonder about my brother and his wife, Who were enjoying the few hours they had. I wonder whether they are holding hands, And watching this world, nearing its end.

I wonder about the shopkeeper, Who used to give me free candies. Did he reach home safely?
Would I get to meet him again for candies?
I wonder about the people without shelter. Are they god's disgraced children?
I wonder about God, who sits there on his throne. I wonder why he would bring this furious weather.

I wonder whether we will get to see you tomorrow.
I have got so many dreams to fulfill on the morrow.
I wonder whether my dreams would be clouded and watered. I wonder whether The Storm decides my tomorrow.

What is the point of wondering, I wonder. Why am I not scared of the thunder?
The fury. The Storm. The apocalypse is on us.
And here I am, writing about the might of the thunder.

Would a storm bring God peace? Where is Noah and where are the ships?
Has he abandoned us to fetch for ourselves?
Or are we a failed experiment? Waiting to be nipped.

I wonder about my life. I wonder about my love.
The Storm was all it took to erase everything, my dove. It's not fair, is it? The slow passage of time.
Only to get a quick death and not have a chance to love.

I wonder about my lover with whom my life is yet to bloom.
I wonder about my brother with whom I have yet to watch movies.
I wonder about my friends with whom I have yet to finish my stories. I wonder about God with whom I have yet to share my queries.

The Storm rages on.
My love rages on.
My love for everything that ever happened to me. My love for God, who gives that mercy.

It's a prayer. A cry for help.
When man became voiceless, God paved the way.
No wonder God is angry with us. He should be furious.
And I see your anger, God. I see The Storm, right in front of us.

Let it be, God. Let it be.
I loved every waking moment that you gave to me.
I thank you for my lover, my friends, and my family. And I thank you for trying to give us a good life,
But humans are indeed mortal. Take my life with thee.
