*Mindfulness* means living in the present moment, and observing yourself in whatever you do.

It strikes me now in School, our teacher used to tell us 'Mind your own business', we used to wonder what business is the teacher talking about, as we were playful then. Today I realize the meaning of mindfulness.

While entering a short height entrance, it's printed 'Mind your head', many a times on the footstep of the staircase it's mentioned 'Mind your step'.

These are just warning signs for our safety. To be mindful, or we hurt ourselves.

In today's busy world, where even a small child has no time to interact, it becomes very important to be mindful, however, a child is living in the moment. He plays with all his heart. Watches his program on TV and mobile cell with full concentration.

Mindfulness is consciousness. We do a lot of things subconsciously, Mindfulness. is a type of a short or long period of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you're sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment.

Even while you are sipping tea or any drink of your choice, savor it, taste every sip of it, feel the taste of it on your tongue, don't just swallow it, be mindful and your nerves will just loosen up and you will feel fresh, relaxed and content. Try it. If you are not into meditation, initially it will take time to be mindful, as the mind just wanders off very soon to wonderlands, and yes if your mind has wandered off to wonderland, be there for a moment to observe the wonderful land. That can also destress you after you come back to the real world.

You can go to a garden sit for sometime, be mindful, and admire the beautiful nature around you, the beautiful flowers which only bloom for a day and spread happiness without feeling envious of the next branch flower which bloomed, in just one-day flower give happiness to the Gardner, shares its nectar with the butterfly, the bee and other insects without charging them, let's us the human beings touch and feel them, spreads joy around without cribbing to God, that it has bloomed only for one day. Mindfulness gives you ease.

Even if you observe the fishpond in your house, if you have it, the fishes are happily playing in the limited-size habitat of their fish aquarium. Just observe the fishes moving around mindfully and you realize you are perfectly at ease, if you are suffering from high blood pressure, just watching the fishes mindfully will stabilize your blood pressure. The only thing is to be mindful.

Mindful practice is living and enjoying the present moment. It involves breathing technics, guided imagery, and imagination, which in turn relaxes our body and mind, and reduces stress levels.

In your twenty-four hour busy, stressful, target oriented day, just spare only one hour for your mindfulness, and observe how relaxed and fresh you feel.

Pick up a drawing book scribble anything mindfully, sing, or hear a song, it destresses you instantly.

Be mindful of whatever you like to do. Live and enjoy in this very second of this present moment.
