Because of the advancement of technology and the growth of automation, the lives of humans are becoming easier day by day.

Most of the work of humans is automated or taken by robots which leads to the threat of human workers.

The working personnel keep asking questions like can robots replace human workers completely in the future?

It seems possible in this modern era but the reality is different. It is possible that as robots become more advanced, they will be able to perform a wider range of tasks and potentially reduce the need for human labor in certain industries.

But it will never become possible that robots will completely replace humans.

Because A.I. is here for a different aim. Let's have a deeper look at A.I.

ABOUT AI:

When most people hear the term artificial intelligence, the first thing they usually think of is robots. But A.I. is far more than robots.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science that focuses on creating machines that can think and act like humans.

AI involves the use of algorithms and software to generate intelligent behavior in machines that can identify patterns, reason, and solve problems.

Some common approaches of AI include machine learning, which involves training algorithms on large datasets to enable them to make predictions or decisions;

Natural language processing, which allows machines to understand and generate human-like language;

And robotics, which involves building machines that can interact with the physical world.

AI has the potential to revolutionize many different fields, including healthcare, transportation, finance, and education.

It is being used to develop new technologies and to improve existing ones.

The Artificial Intelligence Market size was valued at USD 51.08 Billion in 2020 and is projected to reach USD 641.30 Billion by 2028.

HOW AI WORKS:

In general, AI systems work by consuming large amounts of labeled training data, analyzing the data for correlations and patterns, and using these patterns to make predictions about future situations.

In this way, a chatbot that is fed examples of text chats can learn to produce lifelike exchanges with people, or an image recognition tool can learn to identify and describe objects in images by reviewing millions of examples.

AI programming focuses on three cognitive skills: learning, reasoning, and self-correction.

These aspects of AI programming focus on acquiring data and creating, no rules for how to turn the data into actionable information. The rules, which are called algorithms, provide computing devices with step-by-step instructions for how to complete a specific task.

TYPES OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE:

Artificial intelligence can be divided into two different categories: weak and strong.

Weak artificial intelligence comprises a system designed to carry out one particular job. Weak AI systems include video games and personal assistants such as Amazon's Alexa and Apple's Siri. You ask the assistant a question, and it answers it for you.

Strong artificial intelligence systems are systems that carry on tasks considered to be human-like. These tend to be more complex and complicated systems. They are programmed to handle situations in which they may be required to solve problems without having a person involved. These kinds of systems can be found in applications or hospital operating rooms.

HUMANS VS ROBOTS:

There are certain reasons why robots will never be able to replace humans completely. Some of the variations between humans and robots are

Humans are capable of complex thought and creativity, but their processing speed and accuracy are limited.

Machines, on the other hand, can process large amounts of data quickly and accurately, but they lack the creativity and intuition of humans.

Humans are considered to be intelligent beings, capable of learning, problem-solving, and adapting to new situations.

Machines can also be programmed to perform tasks that require intelligence, but they do so in a more limited way than humans.

Humans have a wide range of physical abilities, including the ability to walk, run, lift, and manipulate objects with their hands.

Machines, on the other hand, are generally limited to the functions that they were designed for.

Humans are capable of experiencing a wide range of emotions, such as happiness, sadness, anger, and fear.

Machines cannot experience emotions in the same way that humans do.

Humans are capable of critical thinking and making decisions according to every situation in their life.

AI is often taught to perform tasks in routine, making cannot make decisions when faced with eventualities that go beyond what it has learned.

Humans can produce creative work that is original, innovative, relatable, and able to capture and express humans and the human condition.

AI can produce creative works only in imitation of input, and it does so without understanding and consciousness.

Overall, humans and machines have different strengths and capabilities. Both have their unique advantages and disadvantages. The best way to harness the strengths of both of them is to combine them to create a system that is more powerful than either one on its own.

In a study involving 1500 companies, researchers found that performance improvement is noticed when humans and machines work together.

JOBS THAT ARE IN DANGER BECAUSE OF AI:

Although working together for humans and robots is beneficial for all, there also lie certain jobs that AI is going to replace completely.

According to Pew research, 48% of experts felt that robots will displace a significant number of blue and white-collar jobs.

Robots and AI have huge implications for healthcare, customer service, and logistics.

AI can quickly and accurately input, process, and analyze larger amounts of data than humans which left data entry workers unemployed.

Since the job of customer support requires a lower social or emotional intelligence level to perform, most companies are using AI to respond to customer support questions and FAQs. Businesses are using Chatbots in customer interaction and to respond to internal queries.

Robots are increasingly being used in manufacturing and assembly line work, which can be physically demanding and repetitive.

1.7 million manufacturing jobs have been lost due to automation so far and it is expected that Up to 20 million manufacturing jobs could be lost due to robots by 2030.

Robots and drones are doing the logistics and supply chain functions because they are fast, less costly, and efficient. More growth in the use of AI is expected to replace human delivery persons.

Organizations are automating their accounting systems which have proven to be cheaper and more effective than humans replacing chartered accountants.

Companies have shifted from TV and print media ads to digital marketing. Social media meetings are less expensive and borderless. Thus instead of advertising salespeople, organizations are turning to animation studios to generate high-quality animated ads and videos.

Organizations can’t do without market research analysts because they help create content, and develop products, and marketing campaigns. However, AI has automated this role, and a robot can conduct surveys and do market research for companies and generate a comprehensive market research report too.

The development of proofreading applications and software has reduced the opportunities for proofreaders. Blogging sites can use self-checking writing applications and tools to check grammatical errors, correct sentence structures, and detect plagiarism.

The evolution of technology has introduced tremendous changes in the field of security. This includes the introduction of facial recognition systems and high-tech robotic guards instead of security guards.

JOBS THAT ARE SAFE FROM AI:

There are a variety of jobs that are safe from AI and automation, such as those that require emotional intelligence, creativity, and a human touch.

These include medical professionals such as doctors and nurses, psychologists, social workers, therapists, teachers, lawyers, and childcare workers.

Other jobs that require human intelligence such as art and music, fashion design, writing, and personal care services are also safe from automation.

Managing an entire organization is not a simple task that can be automated. Dealing with employees is one of the chief executives’ tasks. Because the leader has to motivate their team, manage conflict, mentor them, and more. This requires different leadership skills, and there is no absolute way of teaching a machine to perform them.

Although Proofreading software has been able to downscale editors’ work to a certain degree, still a human is needed to review the accuracy, clarity, and originality of content. It’s not every role in editing that a machine can do.

The job of an event planner is also safe from AI because planners have to coordinate different activities and people to make any event a success. They have a high level of creativity and organization skills which robots don't have.

The role of a graphic designer is also sure because Graphic designers combine art and techniques to create something original, understanding other people's wants, needs, tastes, and preferences that require creativity and careful thinking. Further, each client will issue unique requirements and expect a graphic designer to create something per the specified instructions. Robots don’t have the skills and aptitude needed for this job.

Software Development is one of the toughest jobs even for human beings. It involves creating software and applications. Every client has unique requirements, and product customization is not standard; thus, it’s hard for AI to replicate this work and create a perfect item.

Also, the jobs of different types of managers like sales manager, public relations manager, project manager, marketing manager, human resources manager, etc. are safe from automation.

Finally, technical knowledge is an advantage that humans have over AI. Regardless of the abilities of robots, they still depend on humans for design and maintenance. Unless these technologies acquire the ability to maintain themselves, humans capable of working on them will remain employable.

That being said, it is likely that many jobs will continue to be performed by humans even as AI and other forms of automation become more prevalent.

Ultimately, the impact of AI on the job market will depend on how it is developed and used, and how society chooses to adapt to these changes.

NEW JOBS CREATED BY AI:

It's important to note that while some jobs may be replaced by AI, new jobs will also be created in the process.

Here are some examples of new job roles that have emerged due to the advancement of AI:

AI engineer: AI engineers are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining AI systems. They may work on tasks such as developing machine learning algorithms, training models and deploying AI solutions to solve business problems.

Data scientist: Data scientists use statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze and interpret data, often to find patterns and insights that can inform decision-making. With the increasing importance of data in the age of AI, the demand for data scientists has grown.

Machine learning engineer: Machine learning engineers are responsible for building and maintaining machine learning models and systems. They may work on tasks such as training and fine-tuning models, improving model performance, and integrating machine learning solutions into business processes.

Natural language processing specialist: Natural language processing (NLP) specialists focus on developing and improving systems that can understand and generate human-like language. NLP is an important aspect of AI, and specialists in this field are in high demand.

Robotics engineer: Robotics engineers design, build and maintain robots and robotic systems. With the increasing use of robots in manufacturing, logistics, and other industries, the demand for robotics engineers has grown.

AI also has the potential to create new job opportunities in industries that may not have existed before.

Gartner also predicts AI will create 2.3 million jobs by 2020, driving a net gain of 500,000 new jobs.

Ultimately, AI is creating new job opportunities that are more efficient, more engaging, and more rewarding.

(“The countries with the highest robot density have among the lowest unemployment rates. Technology and humans combined in the right way will drive prosperity.”

Ulrich Spiesshofer, Ex-CEO, ABB Ltd.)

CONCLUSION:

To conclude all the points discussed before, it is possible that as robots become more advanced, they will be able to perform a wider range of tasks and potentially reduce the need for human labor in certain industries but it is improbable that robots will completely replace humans ever.

This is because many tasks require human-like capabilities, such as creativity, problem-solving, and social interaction that I mentioned before that are difficult or impossible for robots to perform.

Additionally, many tasks are not suitable for automation because they involve working with people or adapting to changing situations.

This could lead to significant changes in the workforce and society as a whole, and individuals and society need to consider and plan for these changes.
