We all must have heard about Vedas and many of us may have read them. So let's start from the basic question which is "what are Vedas?" Now many of you will answer that "The Vedas are a large body of religious texts originating in ancient India. Composed in Vedic Sanskrit, the texts constitute the oldest layer of Sanskrit literature and the oldest scriptures of Hinduism." But as we hit the depth we would surely get enlightened with a broader prospect of Vedas. Many of us acknowledge it as fascinating bedtime stories but it is a hidden treasure. But at the end of the day, it's all about us and our viewpoint.
It has many aspects to look through, in short, we can call it "ALL IN ONE". NITIN KUMAR in an article wrote, "The Vedas do not reveal themselves directly. They unfold their mysteries only to those who are ready to think beyond the literal meaning presented in their words. Known in Sanskrit as 'Paroksha', or the implied meaning, which is presented indirectly, rather than as a direct understanding. This could be described as a somewhat circuitous and lengthy route by some. However, the Vedas do so to make us think, and come to our own decisions, which indeed is the only way to fundamentally teach us anything." As a science student one can relate it with science, for example, Darwin's theory of evolution. Darwin gave his theory of evolution about 163 years ago but our Vedas are representing evolution through Lord Vishnu's various Avatars first as fish then as a turtle, boar, Narasimha, Vaman, Parshuram, Ram, etc. As Arts students also we can get a philosophy of life and the richness of literature of the ancient period.
At last, I would love to conclude that Vedas are not only limited to stories but an inspiration, art, literature, science, technology, and much more. The more we look into it the more dimensions it shows. Isn't it beautiful???
