GIG Economy is very GIG means ‘General Workforce Environment’ which means includes short-term employment, contractual jobs and independents contractors. It’s also called freelancer economy. This type of worker don’t receive a salary like in traditional full-time jobs.

Nowadays, some platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Uber, Ola and Urban company, as well as the regular press coverage they receive, is major reason for this.

NITI Aayog estimates India has 7.7 million GIG workers, which it expects will swell to 2.35 million by 2029-30. In an another report also said, by Ernst and Young observed that Indian Freelancers hold a 24% shows of global online gig economy. According to a report by MasterCard, global transactions associated with the GIG economy will grow by 17% per year to about $ 455 billion by 2023 and ASSOCHAM also said, the GIG sector has the potential to grow to US $ 455 billion by 2024.

Major issues emerged by GIG Economy in India -

Generally, we can see in this field, marginalized workers win because in the gig economy they can move from no job to some work. The people who struggle most in the GIG economy are corporate workers whose skills are common or less in demand.

In this way, if we analyzed GIG work environment in our country then we can get a clear scenario of process. Actually we can heard some cases about this, how an organization that operate in a gig economy. Mainly, they ignored their ethical practices. No any offer benefits and competitive wage for their worker.

Rajasthan government, GIG workers Registration and welfare bill, 2023- Sometime ago, the central government has also allowed some social security for the GIG workers from the social security code, but right now it’s only on paper.

If we see in this perspective then, we should welcome to Rajasthan government GIG workers registration and welfare bill 2023 because in this bill envisages a welfare board through which policies related to welfare can be formulated. The problems of the GIG workers can be heard in this, but how will it benefit, it’s not clear. Such a scheme has also been adopted in abroad for example, in the transport sector of Thailand and Malaysia.

Conclusion -

Today, we are assessing the economic condition of India through the GIG economy but many economists agree that lack of opportunities in the organized sector and rising incomes are one of the main reasons for India’s

The way the Rajasthan bill 2023 has come among us, it seems like a new ray of hope that it may affect more states and bring another similar rule. But what about the concerns of the above economists regarding the economic condition of India? Are we really giving a security to the given worker by making such schemes today or will this also remain as a political agenda? There are arising in the mind of every common person after the introduction of this bill.

By doing this kind of economic transfer, we will be able to solve the economic problems or we running away from the current problems or we are moving towards a bigger problem because in this bill initiative has been taken to listen to the problems but how the common citizen will be benefited, it’s not mentioned.

If we look into our past records, we can see that many schemes have come in our country, but they have not been implemented properly.

If we can do something, then it must be done that our policy makers and researchers decide the parameters of these questions and for the future of this scheme to be bright, take initiative on it by adopting correct guidance and transparency from the ground level.
