In this article, we are going to talk about the hypocrisy standards of the world we live in. A world that claims to have the record of most, if not all the events that happened in history. A world full of countries following certain rules that are meant to provide “justice” to the public. A world which knows everything but still tends to forget the questionable doings of the people in power, or specifically the ones whose reputation shapes the fairy tales we as people choose to live in.
I am going to state and put forward some really harsh facts that if you believe in fairy tales of the one united world where all the nations are friends or correctly saying have good “political relations”, might want to skip. With the famous King Charles’s coronation event taking place and it being covered and even attended by many famous people from many parts of the world, I noticed some things that actually all the Indians should.
In this modern world, where most of the countries are adopting the most independent form of government, democracy, there is going on a massive coronation event that is the biggest example of Hierarchy being still followed and even somehow embraced by the united kingdom. The kingdom which is responsible for the downfall and partition of India, Pakistan, and many other countries. They literally robbed the world and are now peacefully celebrating the wealth they stole by making us suffer. The wealth they have today is what we and many other countries could have if the evil beholders of that crown had not interrupted us. Even after all these words, if you people still think that it’s not that much of a big issue, let me break some events down for you.
By the 1700s, the East India Company officially became the governing authority of most parts of India. They started imposing inhuman slave laws that were totally depriving us Indians of a major share of the results of efforts in fields related to agriculture and various other stuff.
They banned the traditional Indian Guru Kul system of education. They introduced a new system of education that was specially meant to produce slaves for them. The aim was to make the new Indian generations to be incapable of doing anything but slavery. They added fake stories portraying how good is the East India Company and how it improved India’s living conditions.
Deep in the fight between the mode of education being English or Hindi, we faced one of the biggest losses of all time. We, Indians, lost the language in which our Vedas were written. We lost Sanskrit to a large extent. With the Guru kul system being completely replaced by Western schooling, we even lost the knowledge of the Vedas and many other important literature. Now, most of India was being prepared to be the eternal slaves of this cruel company led by the so-called royal family.
But, there still was a major part of the northern Indian Sub-Continent, where the Britishers were not able to step foot in. Despite the fact that the region we are talking about was simultaneously fighting with many other invaders too, it was surprising that none of the invaders could actually step foot in it.
The land that no one could ever win over was our beloved PUNJAB. Including both India and Pakistan Punjab, the land was the kingdom of the bravest and the best king of all time. The one which was loved by the public and feared the most by his enemy. The Sher-E-Punjab, Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
Maha Raja Ranjit Singh ji and his army were on the one hand fighting the Afghans who were trying to invade, were on the other hand fighting the East India company by both political and battleground skills. The Maha Raja followed the Gorilla warfare technique and managed to not only prevent but control the acts of the British. At a point time when the entire country was enslaved, the public of Maha Raja Ranjit Singh’s Punjab was breathing freely.
But, as we all must know a strong tree that does not break by storms, can only be broken from within. The Punjab where no enemy could cause much harm, was now (By the 1800s), being contaminated by the traitors sent by the Britishers. One thing lead to another and they managed to poison the Maharaja.
After the death of the Maharaja, Punjab too came under the rule of the East India Company. And the darkest period of history began.
By the mid-1800s, the Indians became more and more aware of the basic human rights they were being deprived of. They started gathering information and forming groups in order to demand equal rights. But, this revolution was something that people in power were afraid of. So, as the demand for freedom increased, the oppression did too. Many efforts of the Indian freedom fighters were shattered by the government. From Rani Lakshmi Bai to Mangal Pandey, from the Muslim league founders to the RSS members, all were fighting for their rights.
But, before they could actually fight for anything, they were forced to fight against each other. Invaders entered various religious institutions and disrespected their religious sentiments making them believe that they were from the other religion. This led to massive religious disputes in the country.
Fighting and failing, the freedom movement of India was now losing its grip on the public.
All the above-stated facts might have been mentioned in one or the other books in some form of chapter or at least a paragraph. But, one major organization that was actually very important for awareness amongst the public about the independence movement was HSRA or Hindustan Socialist Republican Association. Founded by Chandra Shekhar Azad, it was a part that actually made the revolution possible in India. As I stated in my previous article, at times when you have to choose between bearing the injustice or defending yourself by using a weapon, you have to use the weapon. This organization provided that weapon to India. The best weapon. The weapon of educated youth who were ready to give up their lives and also to take the lives of the oppressor if necessary.
Here, I will tell you about some famous personalities that belonged to this association who have very significant roles in us living peacefully.
Chandra Shekhar Azad, commonly known as Azad, was the founder of this party, he was the one who gathered recruits and youth to fight for independence. He made many efforts to not let the rulers steal our resources. He also took an oath to never get arrested or killed by the hand of any British officer. Therefore, after immense hard work and determination for his country, when he got caught by the forces for false charges imposed by the filthy government officials, he killed himself with his own bullet.
Sardar Bhagat Singh, AN ATHEIST, that’s a word that truly describes him. Believe it or not, he has written his own book titled “Why am I an atheist? If you people think that an atheist is someone who disrespects God, the prophets, the saints, or their teachings, it actually might be the opposite. A true atheist sees the world without any filter. He respects the teachings of the world that the gods or the gurus taught, but he does not follow anything blindly. In his book, Bhagat Singh ji says, “If you people believe that the good people go straight to the heaven, and the bad people have to come back to the world to repeat the unbearable suffering, I want to ask you, what kind of people the British rulers were in their past lives? They are not in heaven, and they are certainly not suffering here….” Also, “if you are so sure that they will suffer and you will get your peace after death... then why even are you asking for justice… when you know that it is bound to be served later on..” these are the type of questions that to date makes me question the reality. He was a practical man. And being practical comes with a lot of difficulties. One of them is that, like any revolutionary, he is still called a terrorist by some blinded people.
Even though he lost his life making people aware about their rights, he still does not get the respect he deserves. It’s so sad that the Government of India never mentions him to date at any international event. NO ONE CELEBRATES HIS “JAYANTI”.
Yes, I know many of you might not know this name, and for those who know it, most of you have watched a movie named “Sardar Udham”. The movie was in fact his biopic. If you have not watched it and don’t know anything about him, I request you to take some time go watch it.
This man’s story starts in the year 1913. The deadly Baisakhi fare of 1913 in Punjab, where thousands of innocent people lost their lives. Children, women, elderly people, and even pregnant women were killed brutally by the orders of General O Dawyer. Who was sent by the “Royals” to impose the Rowlatt act in India? General Dawyer ordered to open fire upon the public without giving them a chance to leave. After the incident took place, Sardar Udham, a teenage boy back then, was one of the people who were carrying the dead and injured people out from that place. That incident broke his little heart so badly, that he had no other intention left in his heart than to get justice for those innocent souls.
He joined HSRA, and even though the organization was taking its last breaths after shaheed bhagat Singh and his companions, he still gathered the resources and went to the UK and killed General O’Dawyer with a headshot. Unlike him, he did not come with forces. All he had was a gun and a fearless attitude. He let them arrest him. HE BELIEVED IN SARDAR BHAGAT SINGH. He even made his jailor realise that what bhagat singh did in 23 years of his life, no one can imagine doing anything like that in 100s of years. He was too sentenced to death.
Along with these incidents, there are many more incidents that contributed to India’s independence struggle. Note that I am not here talking about any of the political leaders that got power after independence. Because politics and facts can never be the same thing. Politics works hand in hand with altered truth.
A major incident was the formation of the Azad Hind fauj. Some important people in the independence struggle that neither belonged to any political party nor the HSRA were Lala Lajpat Rai, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, etc. I would request the readers to go and read about such people in detail and become more and more informed about their roots because the education system before the NEP still did not tell us much about real heroes. Maybe, that’s why we are still celebrating the throne that practically destroyed us.
About Maharaja Ranjit Singh JI, I have given you a brief introduction earlier in this article. Now, I want to state some more facts about him and his legacy.
This family is just an example of how bad and hideous crimes did the colonizers do to even the kings of that time. You can only think of what the general public had to go through. So, if you think that it’s not a big deal and we should forget everything and just celebrate centuries of slavery which is being glorified by this coronation event, I strongly disagree with you. Instead of celebrating with them, the least we can do is, that we can spare some time and spread awareness to distinguish between fairy tales and reality.
