What is Detox?

The intended results are feeling younger, healthier weight and size reduction, smarter and energized looks.

Types of Detox Diets -

  • Those that replace foods with liquids.
  • Those that clean and purify digestive system, colon, and kidneys.
  • Those that claim to support body's Natural Detoxification process and restart Metabolism.

Common practices people follow are restricting food intake thus hurting the stomach and liver, inhaling toxic air, rigorous fasting, liquid diets, drinking ton of water.

These have more negative effects than positive results.

  1. Drinking only juices and smoothies and avoiding solid food are depriving our body of actual food thereby removing the majority of proteins, fats, minerals, and essential oils from the diet.
  2. Only liquid diets cause severe hunger, low blood sugar, fatigue, lack of energy even to do exercise and daily chores.
  3. It decreases productivity of body, fatigue, effect on the heart and liver. It pushes our body into unhealthy territory.
  4. Liver Detox - it is a common trend these days. A healthy liver has to be supported. Fortunately liver can handle efficiently the toxins it is exposed to. It has its own power to detoxify. Instead, people cut off diet intake thus damaging the liver. Cutting of diet can only lead to liver damage or malfunction.
  5. Food restrictions - Eliminating food groups from your diet unnecessarily leads to an imbalanced routine. This decreases overall health and causes fatigue sleep and energy deprivation, bloating, and intestinal discomfort.
  6. Colon cleanse - supplements, laxatives, colon hydro therapy are unpleasant and dangerous. Serious outcomes such as diarrhea, vomiting, bacterial infections, electrolyte imbalance, perforated bowels can cause serious kidney and heart problems.
  7. Kidney failure - If the daily routine of a healthy diet is disturbed, the filtration capacity of kidneys gets disturbed especially were using only a liquid diet like spinach juice, celery juice, beetroot juice, etc. Long-term fasting can result in vomiting, energy reduction, mineral and vitamin deficiency, and electrolyte imbalance.
  8. Weight loss - it is due to the body using stored energy and in the process releasing water. Once the stored energy is consumed it shows up on another organ. A low intake of calories is unhealthy.
  9. Overweight - Unable to bear energy loss or fatigue, and if regular diet is resumed with extra percent, the weight comes back as water is again retained.
  10. Detox is unnecessary - it's unpleasant and potentially dangerous.
  11. Effect on heart - If the heart becomes weak blood circulation, digestion, excretion is disturbed terribly. Heavy detox can cause strokes, dehydration, high blood pressure high heart rate, and tumors. It can even lead to irritability and bad breath.
