Not been more than a decade when all the chores have been just a click away, whether it's making you a cup of coffee or writing this article by just moving fingertips rather than picking up a pen and scribbling on papers then cutting the lines, the words and redefining the whole paragraph, its whole meaning. Everything is getting convenient isn't it, everything is getting smarter, being more efficient, information fitting up in small microprocessors rather than binding up thick notebooks keeping a library to yourself in your house. Using references and online AI if we talk about literature in this era is it really called an art of expressing and is it really helping us evolve our mind? Is it a true expression of literary knowledge, is it worth it? Can it match the aura, the efforts that were made in the past by the authors in some previous centuries.
There's no point in debating about the fact that technology as advanced in present was not there in those times but the audacity of people calling digital or AI as a real art or expressing themselves. The ART never comes without suffering is what they say, suffering doesn't mean having a great sorrow or a great despair, not at all. But to feel things in depth, to express every little inconvenience we feel, every little disappointment through art, ‘the artist is the one who can never express what we feel but keeps trying to tell us what we feel’.
We’ll, discuss art in my next article, in this my dear readers we’ll talk about what we are leaving behind by running at 5G speed every day. - According to THE BASIC HABITS.
So, we are talking about the basic habits now:
Starting off with waking up with your circadian rhythm and natural intuition of waking up to the sunrise. The late night waking up, doing binge watching, working on that project report, having a pizza night, or any possible reason which is not at all worth our physical health. When did we got into the habit of setting alarm, the question is why we need to force ourselves to wake up and start moving. Because of the urge to be the most productive, to not be late for work, or to be in that 1% group of people. But why are we running for something that makes us force for doing the basic natural work of our bodies. The million years of evolution wasn't for this thing and especially not for setting an alarm to do everything not just to wake up.
Putting your grocery list in the notes is not what we are targeting at bit the little things such as doing laundry, taking your dog to walk, or even writing your own passwords, every single one I'm talking about, according to cnsnevada.com the average adult human brain has the ability to store the equivalent of 2.5 million gigabytes digital memory. Isn't it amazing so why are we trying to doubt our own capability of carrying a lot more information than we can think of. We must evolve our capacity does not degrade it by completely depending upon the technology. And talking about the fact that if we are to be left in an area without our cell phone you can't reach home cause some of us don't even remember the phone numbers of our people who can rescue us from the situation. But we do have some common sense to reach a safe place, thanks to ‘homing signals’ present in our brain and evolution.
According to Wikipedia Procrastination is the act of unnecessary and voluntarily delaying or postponing something despite knowing that there will be negative consequences. And there's no denying that this has become a daily habit for most of us, including the writer delaying writing articles (because I had exams going on) but that won't get us what we want and for sure will not lead us towards our dream. The conversion of a ten-minute break into hours of mindless scrolling and then regretting why did I even opened my social media app and scolding ourselves in our minds for not getting that work done. When our subconscious mind was repeatedly reminding us to stop scrolling and do the right thing, we neglected that ourselves and continued wasting our time, which is really a precious thing. Our body and mind consciously warn us to do the right thing, yet we choose to do the wrong thing.
According to a paper published by IJCRT.ORG which stated “Effect Of Procrastination On Work Load And Work Performance Among Working Individuals In India” here’s the link you can read the whole article IRJCT.ORG. Which also stated that “the variables, procrastination, workload and work performance were correlated to each other; independent variable procrastination influenced the dependent variables work load and work performance; and these variables do not have difference among males and females and different age bracket”. And this clearly states that how procrastination affects our productivity, we tend to waste our potential which could be used in the works which require our working towards it instead of delaying it due to procrastination. And there's no doubt today's fast forward success stories, seconds of motivation and a rush of adrenaline to be conquer the world in one night all have its origin from this technology driven negative energy we are consuming in our minds without being conscious at all. Here’s a graph to portray what I'm stating through statistical data for logical geeks.
Yes, you read it right tech-disorder. If I had to explain it, I would say it can be problems in our physical and mental health which arise due to technology or our misuse of it. Overlooking the symptoms, we make it a part of our lives, the signs that we ignore slowly start affecting our personal and social life as well as our well-being. According to scientists it has been observed that our cognitive skills and the way our brain works are affected immensely. Emotional and social impairment. Humans who are meant to work in a group now want isolation from the world, representing the tires generation, which is tired of everything starting from working on their jobs to being involved in a social gathering. Everybody is exhausted of this life and just wants to escape somewhere calm forgetting our basic principle of striving in this life to survive, standing strong in all kinds of ups and downs.
The need for change must be so powerful that it holds power to change our lives for a better future and making this world a better place for our upcoming generations that we don't have to see the kids holding phones or iPad in their hands instead of holding story books and pebbles. We don't have to see kids ending their lives because of some un-logical games, we must bring that change so that we can make this world a safer place, more like a livable planet for every being.
